A 62-year-old woman was arrested Monday morning on misdemeanor disorderly conduct and obstruction after she allegedly sat on a bench screaming at anyone who looked at her.

According to the arrest report, the reporting party said that the woman had struck him in the head near the corner of William and North Carson streets, but he didn't wish to press charges.

When the deputies arrived, the woman was sitting on a public bench, yelling. As the deputies approached, she began yelling louder, in partial sentences, including something about former Gov. Jim Gibbons and a flying aircraft that was not investigated.

When asked if she needed help, the woman kept yelling and would not cooperate in any way, refusing to give her name. When asked if she hit someone, she said "I'll hit you, too."

By this time, the woman's yelling was attracting the attention of pedestrians and customers at a nearby restaurant, and the woman would yell at anyone who looked at her. At this point, the deputies thought it was in the best interests of the public to take her into custody. Her bail was set at $1,264.
