A 39-year-old Carson City computer specialist faces felony and misdemeanor drug charges after authorities found methamphetamine and a glass pipe hidden inside the tube of a fresh roll of toilet paper at a South Carson Street motel room.
According to the arrest report, authorities were called to the Motel 6 on South Carson Street at about 2:30 this morning after reports that possible drug activity and property damage was being done inside the room.
Two women were in the room at the time authorities arrived. The officer was let in the room by the suspect who agreed to to let officers see the room regarding the report of property damage and to look for any illegal narcotics.
During a search of the bathroom area, the arresting officer found a glass pipe with a large amount of methamphetamine speared inside of it, according to the arrest report. The glass pipe was hidden in the center of a new roll of toilet paper.
The woman was placed under arrest and advised of her Miranda rights. The woman understood her rights, waived them, and continued to talk to the officer, according to the arrest report.
The woman admitted to officers that it was her glass pipe found inside the toilet paper roll. She admitted to the officer the white power was methamphetamine, which, when subsequently weighed, had 9.6 grams in the glass pipe.
The officer then asked the woman if she had drugs inside her purse and she told the officer that she had another glass pipe to smoke meth, but it didn't have any fresh meth in it, according to the report.
The officer retrieved the second glass pipe from the woman's purse, which had burnt residue and small traces of the meth inside. The woman was transported to Carson City Jail, booked on a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail was set at $3,632.
