A Dayton man faces multiple drug charges and being an ex-felon in possession of a firearm.
Ian Miles Lister, 33, was arrested in the 400 block of Saliman Road in Carson City at around 5:30 this morning after an officer spotted his vehicle committing several traffic violations.
Lister provided his license to the officer but was unable to provide proof of insurance or his vehicle registration. Dispatch informed the officer that his license had been revoked, according to the arrest report.
With plans to tow the Buick LaSabre and give Lister a citation, an additional police unit was brought to the scene and a K-9 went through the car as part of an inventory, the arrest report stated. The dog sniffed around the front part of the car and then moved to the rear passenger area under the front passenger seat, according to the report. The dog sniffed out a black camera bag that was partially under the front passenger seat and sat down, indicating an alert to the odor of narcotics.
An officer retrieved the black camera bag and inside found a scale with white powdery residue on it, bags with 13 pills packaged for sale, a bag with several baggies of marijuana that were packaged for sale, a gray colored pocket knife with a white powdery residue on it and a baggie that contained a white crystal-like substance, believed to be methamphetamine, the arrest report stated.
Also retrieved was a .22 caliber revolver that was located inside a Halloween mask located on the floor of the back seat; a box of .22 caliber rounds in a bag on the front seat and another scale, commonly used to weigh drugs, the report stated.
Lister faces a felony charge of possession of prescription without a prescription (13 counts); possession of a controlled substance schedule 1 for sale (2 counts); ex-felon in possession of a firearm; and possession of drug paraphernalia (4 counts). Bail was set at $20,000 for the gun possession and $10,732 for the other charges.
