A 24-year-old Carson City man faces multiple charges including assault with a deadly weapon in a road rage incident where the victim was allegedly assaulted with a crutch.
On Thursday at about 4 p.m. the suspect, John Delvecchio, was allegedly driving in an aggressive manner in an unregistered Cadillac, tailgating, honking his horn, cursing and attempting to run the victim off the road several times between the Douglas County Sheriff's Office building in Gardnerville and the Carson City limits, according to the arrest report.
During a verbal confrontation with the victim's husband in the parking lot of the DMV building at Wright Way, Delvecchio allegedly grabbed a cruth and attempted to strike the victim.
An inventory of his car during a search found the suspect was in possession of two marijuana pipes and a clear film canister containing numerous Vicodin, Hydrocordone, Valium and Diazapam, according to the arrest report.
Booking charges include felony assault with a deadline weapon, gross misdemeanor possession of drugs without script, and misdemeanor aggressive driving, possession of drug paraphernalia, no valid vehicle registration, and driving on a suspended driver's license.
