A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday for suspicion of felony domestic battery with strangulation, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Joshua James Hadley was arrested at 11:50 a.m. in the 3000 block of Green Drive. He also was booked for a misdemeanor criminal contempt warrant.
According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the residence in reference to a verbal argument between a man and woman. The arriving deputy noticed Hadley was extremely intoxicated and had abrasions to his face and was bleeding.
He was asked how he received the injuries. He said he did not know and attempted walk away. The man was detained. Dispatch advised he had a confirmed warrant out of Carson City Justice Court for contempt of court. He was arrested and the investigation continued.
Deputies made contact with the victim and learned the woman was asleep when she was awoken by her boyfriend Hadley, who allegedly began choking her, the arrest report states.
She stated she began to punch him to defend herself. She said was able to break his hands away from her throat, when the man allegedly began choking her again, the arrest report states.
The victim said she was also pushed down the stairs from the top. Deputies observed red marks on the woman’s neck and an abrasion on her right hand, according to the report.
Due to the man’s level of intoxication he was taken to the hospital for medical evaluation and then later booked into jail for suspicion of domestic battery with strangulation and the misdemeanor warrant. Bail: $20,500.

— A 72-year-old Mound House man, Fready Williams, was arrested Thursday, 9:30 a.m. for felony warrants alleging two counts sale of a controlled substance. Bail: $20,000.
— A 52-year-old Mound House man was arrested early Friday, 1:31 a.m. for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI and basic speeding. According to the arrest report, the man was confirmed by radar going 76 mph in a 55 mph zone. A deputy made a traffic stop and could smell an odor of alcohol coming from the vehicle.
The man agreed to standardized field sobriety tests and showed six of six clues of impairment. He provided a partial breath PBT of .125 and was arrested for suspicion of DUI and speeding. Bail: $1,294.
— A 19-year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Friday, 1:11 a.m. in the area of Robinson and Carson Meadows for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant, and misdemeanor possession of marijuana and possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $2,250.
— A 26-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 11:49 p.m. in the area of Highway 50 eastbound near Arrowhead Drive for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI and basic speeding.
According to the arrest report the man was clocked on radar going 75 mph in a 55 mph zone. A deputy made a traffic stop, and the officer could smell an odor of alcohol. The man agreed to field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment. He provided a preliminary breath test of .091. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI and speeding. Bail: $1,070.
— A 46-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 7:34 p.m. in the 1400 block of South Carson Street for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI, failure to maintain a lane, and hit and run causing property damage.
According to the arrest report, a reporting party called dispatch informing them that a driver allegedly crashed his vehicle in the center median while driving northbound on Stewart Street. The reporting party noted the vehicle had damage on the left side from hitting the median and likely had a flat tire. An officer located the vehicle, which was in the parking lot of Carson Mall. The man was attempting to change the tire.
The officer could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person and asked the man if he had been drinking. The man said he had two beers. He was asked if he would submit to field sobriety tests and the man agreed. He showed signs of impairment during the tests.
He voluntarily submitted to a preliminary breath test with a result of .187. He was arrested. At jail he told officers he would not voluntarily provide an evidentiary breath or blood test. An officer applied for and received a search warrant to obtain samples of the man’s blood for testing. Bail: $1,861.
— A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 6:21 p.m. in the area of Highway 50 East and Airport Road for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, failure to obey a traffic control device and ex-felon failing to register. Bail: $1,537.
— A 27-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 6:52 p.m. in the 1500 block of Evan Drive for misdemeanor violation of a suspended sentence, driving with a revoked license and failure to maintain a single lane. Bail: $1,724.
— A 31-year-old transient was arrested Thursday, 1:45 p.m. in the area of Long and Roop streets for misdemeanor ex-felon failing to register. Bail: $242. Also arrested was a 24-year-old Carson City man for misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. Bail: $1,137.
— A 39-year-old Fernley man, Randall Steven Selby, was booked Wednesday at Carson City jail on multiple warrants. The warrants allege felony grand larceny of a motor vehicle, gross misdemeanor conspiracy to commit petit theft. There were also misdemeanor warrants alleging petit theft, possession of stolen property, theft, and two counts violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $26,500.
— A 45-year-old Carson City woman, Kristina Margret Schneider, was booked Wednesday at Carson City Jail for a felony contempt of court warrant. Bail: $25,000.
— A 37-year-old Livermore, Calif., man, Nathan Marshall, was booked into Carson City jail Wednesday, 6:45 p.m. for two felony sex offense fugitive from justice warrants issued out of Superior Court of California. The warrants were issued on March 27 and April 2, 2018. He’s being held without bail awaiting extradition.
