Crime Log: Several arrests over New Years weekend

Carson City Sheriff's deputies arrested David Anthony Patten, 19, an unemployed Carson City resident, at 10:51 a.m. Friday, near the 500 block of Country Village Drive in Carson City. Patten was arrested for a felony probation violation, a felony failure to appear warrant, and an unspecified misdemeanor felony. No bail has been set.

Juan Diaz-Rodriguez, 44, of Carson City, was arrested at around noon Friday near the 1900 block of North Carson Street. Diaz-Rodriguez was arrested for a felony fraud of a business. Bail is set at $7,500.

Several Tri-County Gang Unit officers arrested Todd Winkler, 48, an unemployed Carson City man, just before 6 p.m. Saturday near the 2000 block of Mayflower Way. Winkler was arrested for a felony posession of methamphetamines, a misdemeanor obstructing officer, a misdemeanor possible drug paraphernalia, and a previously-held misdemeanor contempt warrant. Bail is set at $4,800 plus administrative fees.

Also arrested at the same time was Steven Raymond Soloro Jr., 40, a Reno tatoo artist, Tiffany Parr-Andrews, 30, and Wendy Michele Brown, 42, both unemployed Carson City residents.

Soloro was arrested for a felony posession of counterfeit currency. a felony felon in posession of a firearm, a misdemeanor felon failure to register, and a misdemeanor suspended sentence warrant. His bail is set at 38,150 plus administrative costs. Parr-Andrews was arrested for a felony violation of suspended sentence warrant and a misdemeanor possibility of drug paraphernalia. Her bail was set at $4,000 plus administrative costs. Brown was arrested for a felony posession of methamphetamines, a misdemeanor posession of drug paraphernalia, and a misdemeanor violation of bail conditions. Her bail is set at $6,500 plus admininstrative fees.

Just prior to midnight on Saturday evening, deputies arrested a 33-year-old Modesto, Calif. man, near the intersection of Deer Run Road and Sedge Drive. He was arrested for four misdemeanors - reckless driving, driving under a suspended driver's licesense, driving under suspsended registration, and posession of marijuana (less than one ounce).

The driver nearly struck an officer conducting a traffic stop on Airport Road and then later nearly caused several other vehicular accidents. When he was finally pulled over, the driver attempted to run into the hills east of Deer Run Road.

Bail was set at $2,050 and administrative fees.

An 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested for resisting arrest with violence, obstructing an officer, petit larceny, and minor consumption - all misdemeanors - at the north Wal-Mart facility at around 1 a.m. Sunday morning. The man attempted to steal a bottle of Evan Williams bourbon by concealing it in his pants, and was discovered to be already intoxicated when deputies later arrived.

The defendant, when apprehended by Wal-Mart security officials, attempted to escape and was bodily pinned down, screaming obscinities at officers as they arrived.

Bail is set at $2,050. The Evan Williams was worth approximately $9.
