Carson City police officers made several arrests on Thursday, including that of Stuart Nichols, 43, an unemployed Carson City man. Nichols was arrested around 4:30 a.m. near Empire Ranch Road and Short Putt Drive.
Nichols was reported at approximately 4:19 a.m. as being dressed in camouflage and playing football by himself in a park. When deputies arrived he had begun walking north on Empire Ranch Road. When contact was made, Nichols was described as becoming visibly upset and putting his arms up "like an airplane" and running towards the patrol unit. He began walking away but refused to show his hands. Officers tased him and found no weapons, but discovered a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant out of Carson City. Nichols was arrested for his previous contempt of court warrant and for misdemeanor obstructing and resisting a police officer. Bail was set at $5,300 plus administrative costs.

Deputies pulled over a vehicle matching the description of a wanted suspect at around 10:23 a.m. Thursday, leading to a tip that they could find the suspect at the Super 8 Motel on South Carson Street. Officers discovered the suspect, 25-year-old transient Rachel Elizabeth Henson, and arrested her on her previous warrant for felony attempted theft. Bail was set at $500.

At approximately 10:30 Thursday morning, 25-year-old Julio "Bugsy" Vasquez, an unemployed transient, was arrested on a felony Failure to Appear warrant issued by the Carson City District Court. Vasquez is being held on a no-bail ICE hold.

Cody McChesney, 24, was released on is own recognizance from local charges, but upon his release a felony fugitive from justice warrant out of El Dorado County, California, was discovered. McChesney was re-booked and is being held on a no-bail hold.
