A 28-year-old Carson City woman faces a felony grand larceny charge after allegedly trying to steal approximately 40 items of clothing valued at around $1,000 from Kohls.
Lindsie Newman was arrested Monday 6:45 p.m. after store security stopped her as she left the store without paying. The woman placed items of clothing in a purse and in a plastic bag, according to the arrest report.
The woman admitted to store security that she took the items. During an interview with a Carson City deputy the woman asked if she could just pay for the items and never return to the store.
"She followed this request up with statements to the affect that someone made her steal the clothes," according to the arrest report. Bail: $25,000.

— A 42-year-old Carson City man was arrested and faces a misdemeanor charge on a domestic battery warrant out of Reno.
The man was arrested March 4, 9:20 p.m. in the 900 block of Chernus Drive after authorities were called to conduct a welfare check. On arrival officers met with the man who was upset to due having an argument with his girlfriend, according to the arrest report. A wants and warrant check on the man showed he had a confirmed warrant out of Reno Justice Court for domestic battery.
— A 50-year-old transient was arrested March 6, 1:50 a.m. in the 2400 block of Carson Street after authorities learned he had three outstanding misdemeanor warrants for his arrest for failure to appear in court.
The man was standing outside a bank when an officer asked him, in a consensual manner, what he was doing. The man replied that he was waiting for his unemployment check to come in, the arrest report states.
The officer asked for identification and the man provided it but asked the officer not to run it because he believed he had several warrants for his arrest, the report states. Dispatch advised he had three warrants One in Esmeralda Township, one in Reno Township and one in Searchlight. Bail: $3,442.
— A 42-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 1700 block of North Roop March 5, 10:49 p.m. on a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant. According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to the area regarding an unwanted subject at a residence. A wants and warrants check of the man showed he had a confirmed warrant for his arrest out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $500.
— A 21-year-old unemployed Carson City woman was arrested March 5, 8:05 a.m. at the Carson City Jail after turning herself in on a warrant of violation of a suspended sentence. She was taken into custody. She advised she had used marijuana and Percocet the night before, according to the arrest report. Bail: $1,000.
— A 41-year-old Carson City man was arrested March 6, 10:19 a.m. in the 300 block of Carson Meadows on a failure to appear traffic warrant. According to the arrest report, officers responded to the area regarding a three-year-old boy wandering the halls saying he was looking for his father.
The child took the officer to the apartment where he resided. A woman, who had been asleep, advised she was the boy's mother and that the boy's father must have stepped out, the arrest report states. Moments later the boy's father arrived. A wants and warrants check of the man had him wanted for a failure to appear on a traffic citation on a warrant dated Sept. 11, 2012. Bail: $1,029.
— Those arrested and facing charges are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
