A Carson City woman who had a revoked driver's license faces a felony hit and run charge that caused injury following an accident at a grocery store parking lot.
Rebecca Katherine Beebe, 23, was arrested in the 1100 block of Monte Rosa Drive in Carson City on March 17. She also faces a misdemeanor charge of driving under the influence. Bail was set at $40,000.
According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to a grocery store in the 3300 block of Highway 50 on an injury accident call. Witnesses reportedly watched as a shopper was struck twice by a truck before the driver fled the parking lot.
The victim was shopping at the grocery store and then exited through the front doors. As she left she walked westbound across the driveway in front of the store she was hit by a black 2001 Dodge Dakota, which backed into her from one of the rows of parking spaces, according to the arrest report.
The victim told officers she yelled at the driver to stop. The suspect did not stop and backed into the woman again as she was trying to get on her feet, the report stated. The woman fell to the sidewalk and was assisted by other shoppers and employees. She was taken to the hospital and treated for unknown injuries.
A witness who saw the accident said she spoke with Beebe through the window of the truck after the victim was struck a second time. The witness informed the suspect that she had hit someone and that's when Beebe allegedly fled the parking lot, the report stated.
Other witnesses were able to obtain the license plate number and a vehicle description, noting the truck had a Dallas Cowboys sticker in the rear window.
Officers went to the home where the truck was registered and made contact with the suspect who appeared to be intoxicated at the residence, according to the arrest report. The vehicle was also present at the home. Officers detained the suspect where she was later identified by the witness.
According to the arrest report the woman admitted to officers that she drank two glass of red wine at her parent's about 2 hours earlier. A breathalyzer test was given which registered a .055 blood alcohol content. .08 percent is considered legally intoxicated.
The woman was given a standardized field sobriety test battery, in which the arrest report stated the woman had unsatisfactory results.
Because of the woman's performance on the SFSTs, presence of alcohol, and accident involvement, she was taken into custody. Charges include hit and run with injury, misdemeanor DUI first offense, misdemeanor failure to render and aid at scene of an accident; misdemeanor driving on a suspended or revoked license, misdemeanor driving without a valid license, and misdemeanor failure to report an accident.

— A Carson City woman was jailed Thursday in the 3700 block of South Carson and faces a felony burglary charge after attempting to steal $140 in merchandise from a Carson City grocery store.
Ana Rosa Zpeda, 39, was arrested and booked on the charge after she was detailed by store security at 1:09 p.m. Bail was set at $2,500.
According to the arrest report, store security observed the woman take food items from the shelves at the store and place them in her shopping cart, which contained three purses. Security stated she began concealing the food items in the purses as she walked around. Security also stated that she went though checkout station and met with two other females who were standing in line. The security officer stated Zpeda went through the checkouts without paying for the items she put insider her purses, the arrest report stated.
Once outside the store, the security officer made contact with the woman and identified himself as store security. The security officer stated the woman attempted to get away but he was able to hang on to her and place her in cuffs, according to the report.
The security officer reported the other women ran off to unknown locations. The purses were booked into evidence and the merchandise was kept at the store's security office.
— A Carson City man faces a gross misdemeanor charge of battery on a police officer following an incident at a hospital emergency room in the 1600 block of Medical Parkway.
Jess Mazur, 33, was jailed March 17 on $2,500 bond. He was also charged with misdemeanor obstructing an officer.
The man, reportedly in the hospital with an injured hand he received from allegedly punching a wall, became hostile with an officer who was called to the hospital to deal with him.
The officer advised the man that he was there to find out what the situation was, that he needed to sit down and that whatever it was that was bothering him could be worked out. The man told the officer: "No, f*** you, get out of my f****** room!" The man continued to yell this several more times. The officer attempted to bring the man into custody. The man then allegedly kicked the officer in the leg and kicked a member of the hospital staff who was helping to detain him. A backup unit was called to bring leg restraints, the report stated.
Those arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
