A Carson City man and an accomplice face felony burglary charges after authorities found them Tuesday at a Minden home loading up a vehicle of items they allegedly attempted to steal.

Joshua Anderson, 30, of Carson City and Jeremy Nelson, 36, of Minden face the charges following the home burglary in the 2800 block of Vicky Lane, according to Douglas County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Jim Halsey.

An anonymous female reported seeing two adult males inside the home and called authorities. Officers arrived on scene and discovered Nelson and Anderson inside the home. They had made entry into the residence through a rear door, and had removed property from the garage, loading it into their vehicle, Halsey said.

Investigation revealed that Nelson had previously purchased scrap metal from the owner of the property, and the owner had given Nelson permission to collect the scrap metal from the yard at the residence.

The owner advised that he not given permission for Nelson or anyone to enter into the residence, or to remove property from within. The owner confirmed that Nelson and Anderson had made unlawful entry into the residence, and had stolen his property from inside, said Halsey.

Nelson and Anderson were subsequently arrested and face felony burglary charges. During the investigation it was also discovered that Nelson is currently on parole for narcotics charges. Nelson’s Parole Officer requested he additionally be charged with parole violation.

Both Nelson and Anderson were booked into Douglas County Jail.
