William Kelly Jones, 54, was arrested Friday evening after employees at Western Nevada College reported that they saw the suspect viewing what looked like child pornography on one of the library's public access computers, Carson City authorities report.
According to the arrest report, two employees witnessed Jones, a registered sex offender, viewing images of nude young girls on the computer. When confronted, Jones closed the viewing windows containing the images and left the library. A computer technician at the library took screen shots of the computer's browsing history, and confirmed they were viewed under Jones' patron number. A forensic investigator at the Sheriff's Office found the web pages Jones was viewing to contain images of pre-pubescent girls engaged in sexual acts.
Deputies arrested Jones at his residence on Woodside Drive in Carson City for felony possession of the child pornography, and felony use of Internet to control visual presentation depicting sexual conduct of person under 16 years old. His bail was set at $50,000.
