Crime Log: Carson City man turns self in on felony warrants

Carson City Sheriff's deputies arrested the following individuals on felony or gross misdemeanor allegations:

  • Cody Scott McChesney, 32, an unemployed Carson City man, for two uttering a forged instrument warrants in his name. McChesney was also arrested on a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant. McChesney turned himself in at the Carson City Detention Facility on Wednesday afternoon. No bail has been set.
  • Timothy Souza Whitmer, 19, a transient man, for a parole and probation violation. Whitmer was transferred into Carson City custody from San Francisco at approximately 8 a.m. Wednesday morning. No bail has been set.
  • Benjamin Woodbury Crosby, 50, a Carson City man, for a possession with intent to sell warrant in his name. Bail has been set at $10,000.

Officers also arrested the following individuals for misdemeanor allegations:

  • A 20-year-old Carson City man for violation of probation.
  • A 42-year-old Carson City man for a DUI warrant in his name and contempt of court.
  • A 31-year-old Carson City man for a failure to appear traffic warrant in his name.
  • An 18-year-old Carson City woman for minor consumption.
  • A 21-year-old Carson City man for a criminal contempt warrant in his name.
  • A 30-year-old Carson City woman for criminal contempt and a failure to appear traffic warrant in her name.
  • A 40-year-old Carson City man for a failure to appear battery warrant in his name.
  • A 27-year-old Markleeville man for DUI first offense, a basic speed violation, expired registration, and no proof of insurance.
  • A 49-year-old Carson City man for DUI and failure to maintain a lane.
  • A 39-year-old Carson City man for a failure to appear traffic warrant in his name.
  • A 39-year-old Carson City woman for a warrant in her name.
  • A 23-year-old Carson City man for DUI first offense and not possessing a valid drivers' license.

All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
