Crime Log: Carson City convenience store robbed; upcoming DUI checkpoint

The Rand Avenue convenience store behind Tierra Plaza was robbed last night at approximately 8:30 p.m. No arrests have been made. The log indicates that the suspect may have injured himself during the robbery, as an officer reported discovering blood.

DUI CHECKPONT

A DUI checkpoint is scheduled for 6 p.m. - midnight this Saturday, March 17th, at the intersection of Carson and Colorado streets. Officers will be inspecting vehicles for intoxicated drivers as well as child passenger safety.

Carson City Sheriff's deputies made several felony or gross misdemeanor arrests from Thursday through Monday morning:

  • Donald Philip Atkinson, 50, a photographer from Carson City, for a fugitive from justice warrant in his name out of El Dorado County. Bail has been set at $1,000,000.
  • Holly Elaine Clark, 22, a server from Carson City, for grand larceny and burglary, as well as a misdemeanor warrant out of Douglas County. Bail is set at $20,000 plus administrative fees.
  • John Logan Christopher, 31, a Carson City man, for two felony warrants in his name: possession of a controlled substance and uttering forged instruments. No bail has been set.
  • Kathleen Elizabeth Campbell, 22, a Silver Springs woman, for a failure to appear warrant, as well as a gross misdemeanor allegation of possession of a dangerous drug without a prescription, and the following misdemeanor allegations: possession of less than one ounce of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia, possession of a hypodermic device, and a contempt of court warrant in her name. Bail has been set at $10,134 plus administrative fees.
  • Robert Brantley Wilson, 27, a server from Carson City, for assault with a deadly weapon, as well as the following misdmeanor allegations: battery, obstructing an officer, possession of marijuana, and indecent conducting (urination). Bail is set at $8,100 plus administrative fees.
  • Shelby Moorhead, 19, a Carson city woman, for a failure to appear warrant in her name out of Reno. No bail has been set.
  • Fidel Moreno-Chavez, 45, a Carson City resident, for a contempt of court/failure to appear warrant in his name. No bail has been set.

Officers also made the following misdemeanor arrests:

  • A 24-year-old Carson City woman for a failure to appear warrant.
  • A 47-year-old Carson City man for destruction of private property.
  • A 46-year-old Carson City man for violation of a suspended sentence, driving on a suspended license, and suspended registration.
  • A 23-year-old Carson City woman for two contempt of court warrants and suspended registration.
  • A 20-year-old Carson City man for disorderly conduct and minor consumption.
  • A 28-year-old Carson City man for disorderly conduct.
  • A 68-year-old Carson city woman for failure to turn into an immediate lane, failure to maintain a lane, drivers license not being in possession, and DUI first offense.
  • A 21-year-old Reno man for speeding, failure to maintain a single lane, and DUI first offense.
  • A 38-year-old Carson City man for violation of a suspended sentence.
  • A 64-year-old Reno man for driving on a suspended license and a traffic warrant.
  • A 20-year-old Kings Beach man for a probation violation and possession of one ounce or less of marijuana.
  • A 50-year-old Carson City woman for a violation of a suspended sentence.
  • A 38-year-old Carson City woman for domestic battery and injury to a motor vehicle.
  • A 31-year-old Carson City man for criminal contempt.
  • A 28-year-old Carson City man for a contempt of court warrant.
  • A 46-year-old Carson City woman for failure to appear after admission of bail and contempt of court.
  • A 47-year-old Dayton woman for a probation violation.
  • A 22-year-old Carson City man for disorderly conduct.
  • A 26-year-old Carson City man for a failure to appear (traffic) warrant.

All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
