Douglas County authorities were unable to locate a known fugitive Wednesday night after being tipped off that he was inside a Gardnerville outbuilding in the 600 block of Thorobred Avenue.
Douglas County sheriff’s deputies obtained information about fugitive David Gomez, who is currently wanted on two outstanding felony warrants and was thought to be harbored at the Thorobred address by family members, said Sheriff's Office Spokesman Sgt. Pat Brooks.
Deputies had information that Gomez was inside an outbuilding at the location and obtained a search warrant. The Douglas County Sheriff’s SWAT team responded to the scene and entered the building. Once inside deputies did not locate Gomez, however they did recover a firearm, said Brooks.
DCSO is considering filing a criminal complaint against any family or friends who are harboring David Gomez.
