Crime Log: Carson City man arrested for methamphetamines

Carson City Sheriff's deputies arrested Anthony John Chappa, 24, a Carson City resident, just prior to 11 p.m. Wednesday. Chappa was arrested for felony allegations of possession of methamphetamines and possession of methamphetamines with the intent to sell, as well as the misdemeanor allegations of driving without proof of insurance, driving with fictitious registration, driving without headlights, and speeding from 1 to 10 over. It was also discovered that Chappa had two misdemeanor warrants in his name: one for failure to appear, and one for possession of drug paraphernalia. The amount of methamphetamines located in Chappa's vehicle is currently unknown, but the amounts had been separated into various baggies. Bail is set at $12,720 plus administrative fees.

Officers also arrested the following individuals for misdemeanor allegations:

  • A 49-year-old Gardnerville man for violation of a suspended sentence, possession of marijuana, and obstructing an officer.
  • A 21-year-old Carson City man for first-offense DUI.
  • A 57-year-old Carson City man for domestic battery.
  • A 31-year-old Fernley man for criminal contempt.
  • A 42-year-old Stateline man for a failure to appear traffic warrant in his name.

All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.

An incident was reported at the Carson Tahoe Regional Medical Center emergency room where a female claimed that the male she was there with was high on methamphetamines and forced her to smoke them at gunpoint. According to the incident report, when officers arrived the couple was missing.
