A 47-year-old Carson City man faces a felony domestic battery with strangulation charge after he was jailed Tuesday. Richard Scott Morris was arrested at 6:27 p.m. in the 800 block of North Carson Street. According to the booking report, officers were dispatched to a residence for a reported domestic battery.
On arrival officers met with the victim who told them that Morris had physically battered and strangled her with his hands. Officers observed numerous injuries to the victim's face and neck, the arrest report states.
Officers made contact with Morris, who was not wearing a shirt, didn't have any injuries to his body and had blood on his hands, the report states. He was arrested without incident. Bail: $15,000.
— A 34-year-old Carson City man was jailed Monday and faces a felony charge of grand larceny of a vehicle.
Samuel Webster was arrested at 10:44 p.m. in the 1400 block of Rand Avenue. According to the booking report, officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of Pebbleridge Drive regarding an unwanted man at a residence.
While responding, dispatch told officers that Webster had been at the home of his ex-girlfriend, was trying to remove belongings from the residence and then took off in the woman's 2000 Toyota 4runner, the arrest report states.
Officers learned from the victim that Webster had arrived at the home in a cab, was trying to make entry into the garage and that she tried to stop him. She told authorities that a short time later she heard her Toyota 4runner start, the garage door open and saw Webster leaving in the vehicle.
Officers searching for the vehicle located it in the 1400 block of Rand. The man was arrested. He was found to have a small baggie of marijuana in his possession, the arrest report states.
He faces the felony grand larceny charge and misdemeanor possession of marijuana. Bail: $31,132.
In misdemeanor-related arrests:
— A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, 3:32 p.m. near Adams and Roop streets. He faces misdemeanor charges of failure to appear on a traffic Esmeralda County warrant, disobeying a traffic control device and driving on a suspended license. Bail: $1,548.
— A 52-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Tuesday, April 16, 9:19 a.m. in the 300 block of Carson Meadows. She had a warrant for her arrest issued Dec. 13, 2012 for failure to provide proof of community service. Bail: $632.
- Those arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
