A Washoe Valley mechanic was arrested Tuesday night after he was found driving a vehicle with the wrong license plates.
According to the arrest report, Michael Francis Galloway, 56, was arrested in the 2300 block of Highway 50 East after a Carson City Sheriff's Office deputy ran the license plates of the 1992 Ford Explorer he was driving, and they came back registered to a 1993 Jaguar.
The deputy checked with the owner of the Explorer, who said Galloway rents a residence from him, and said he gave him permission to work on the vehicle a month ago, but never gave him permission to drive it anywhere. Galloway was arrested for felony grand larceny of a motor vehicle, driving on a suspended license with ficticious registration and with no proof of insurance (all misdemeanors), as well as for a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant. Bail was set at $26,918.

Nicholas Benton Schroeder, 33, was arrested Tuesday afternoon in the 3600 block of North Carson Street for misdemeanor petit larceny after allegedly being caught stealing beer from a store. He was also found to have a felony fugitive from justice warrant out of California. He was held without bail.

Michael Lee Stammer, 37, of Washoe Valley, was arrested Sept. 23 in the 3200 block of Market Street for misdemeanor petit larceny after allegedly being stopped with another person for leaving a store with a shopping cart of items they didn't pay for. Stammer was also held without bail on a felony parole and probation hold.

Kevin Patrick Mullen, 25, currently a resident of the Carson City Jail, was arrested for felony battery on a prisoner. He bail was set at $20,000.

A 55-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday night in the 400 block of East Park Street for misdemeanor domestic battery (first offense) and misdemeanor ex-felon failure to register after allegedly striking his adult daughter multiple times in the face and body. His bail was set at $3,374.

A 26-year-old Reno man was arrested Tuesday morning in the 500 block of Sandstone for misdemeanor violation of protective order after allegedly following the mother of his child to a coffee shop and to her place of employment. His bail was set at $1,137.

A 24-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday night in the 200 block of Fleischmann Way for misdemeanor domestic battery after allegedly scratching her husband's face over a disagreement about changing her name. Bail was set at $3,137.

A 43-year-old transient was arrested Monday night in the 800 block of North Carson Street for domestic battery after witness reported seeing him strike a woman in the face. His bail was set at $3,137.
