Carson City authorities make arrest after vehicle chase

Carson City authorities arrested a man early this morning after leading deputies on a vehicle chase and then a brief foot pursuit that ended near a South Carson Street motel.
The suspect, said to be in his 20s with a shaved head, was carrying two handguns, and reportedly was dropping ammunition during the pursuit, authorities said. Additional weapons were found in the suspect's vehicle.
The suspect apparently drove through three fences, including one at a nearby storage facility and the Cherry Creek apartment complex. He then jumped a fence and lodged himself under a car where he was eventually found at 12:38 a.m. near the Mill House Inn Motel, said Carson City Sgt. Jim Primka.

Paramedics responded after the man said he had an injury to his leg. He faces multiple felony weapon and drug charges, Primka said.
During the pursuit, several live rounds of ammunition were found on the ground and reportedly several large handguns and shotguns were discovered as was several grams of methamphetamine, Primka said.
The car chase began shortly before midnight Tuesday with speeds of around 45 mph, according to scanner traffic.
