According to the Carson City Sheriff's Office arrest report, a deputy with the Special Enforcement Team was contacted by an off duty officer who stated that as he was driving he noticed a blue Chevy Impala with large chrome rims parked in the 2700 block of Highway 50 East.
The deputy stated he watched as an unknown red Jeep pulled up next to the vehicle and an unknown man got out of the vehicle and walked to the passenger door of the Impala. The deputy stated the unknown man leaned most of his upper body into the vehicle for a short amount of time and then returned to his Jeep and left the area, the arrest report states.
The SET officer arrived in the location as the Impala began to leave the area and drove east on Highway 50. The officer initiated a traffic stop on the vehicle at Highway 50 and Brown Street. The vehicle continued to travel east until reaching the intersection at Fairview Drive. The Impala then turned into a parking lot of a casino.
The officer made contact with Cribbins and explained why he was stopped. The officer asked if he had any illegal items on the vehicle. The officer asked Cribbins about the case and the man said it's where he keeps his "legal papers," the arrest report states.
The officer asked Cribbins to exit the vehicle and placed him in handcuffs. The officer then spoke with the female passenger. A background check on her revealed two warrants for her arrest. The officer placed cuffs on the woman, the arrest report states.
A K9 conducted an exterior sniff of the vehicle, which alerted Sgt. Humphrey to the presence of illegal drugs in the car. Officers conducted a search of the interior of the vehicle, where a loaded 357 revolver was found as well as five credit cards inside the man's wallet that did not belong to him, the arrest report states. Inside the safe was a small ziplock bag with methamphetamine, a marijuana grinder and marijuana pipe, the arrest report states.
