Carson City man who attempted to register as a sex offender arrested at sheriff's office

A Carson City man who came to the sheriff's office front counter to register as a sex offender, was arrested on Thursday after being wanted on two felony fugitive from justice warrants out of Lassen County.

David Henry Duke, 25, whose street address listed on the arrest report as living in the 700 block of Hot Springs Drive in Carson City, came to the sheriff's office at 1:40 Thursday afternoon to register as a sex offender, according to the arrest report. A wants and warrants check was conducted on Duke by the sheriff's office civil division, according to the arrest report.

In the warrants check it was confirmed that Duke had two warrants out of Lassen County Superior Court. One was for counterfeiting and getting credit with the use of another identification, according to the warrant.

Duke was taken into custody and escorted to jail where he was booked on a felony fugitive from justice charge. Bail was set at $20,000.

His conviction was sex with a minor three years of age or younger, according to the Department of Public Safety Records and Tech division.
