A 21-year-old Gardnerville man faces multiple felony charges including sexual assault and lewdness with a minor, Douglas County authorities said.
Juan Daniel Martir was arrested on Wednesday. He admitted to the crimes in an interview with the Douglas County Sheriff's Office.
Martir was arrested after it was discovered he had exposed himself to a 13 year-old girl at her residence, authorities said. The incident was discovered by an adult caretaker whom the girl resides with. The caretaker discovered Martir, a friend of the family, exposing himself to the girl inside the Ruhenstroth home near Gardnerville.
Subsequent investigation into the incident provided evidence that Martir had earlier engaged in sexual activity with the girl, Douglas authorities said. During interview with Martir, he admitted to engaging in full sexual acts with the girl. Evidence collected at the scene substantiated the admission, authorities said. The 13 year-old victim stated the sexual activity was forced on her by Martir, authorities said.
Martir is currently in custody in the Douglas County Jail. His bail is set at $202,500.
