A Carson City man faces misdemeanor larceny and resisting arrest charges and had to be Tasered because he refused to leave his vehicle when ordered by police.
According to the arrest report, the 55-year-old man was being held in a parking lot on Fairview Drive at about 10:30 a.m. Wednesday after it was reported he had taken $62.81 worth of fish supply items from PetsMart without paying.
Carson City Sheriff's officers approached the man's vehicle and when they did, the he held the door lock down with his left hand on the driver's door. An officer went to the passenger side, opened the door and began talking to the man for several minutes but he still wouldn't remove his hands from the lock, according to the arrest report.
Officers gave him one last instruction to remove his hand or else he would be pepper sprayed. The man didn't comply and he was sprayed on the right side of his head, the report stated. The man still refused to leave the vehicle. After continued waiting, the man was Tasered until he finally took his hand off the lock. A deputy was then able to open the door and pull the man out. He was placed into custody.

Tami Rae White, 29, faces charges of felony burglary, uttering a forged instrument and conspiracy to commit theft. She is being held on a $10,000 bondable warrrant.
