A man who escaped the Nevada Department of Corrections Stewart Conservation Camp in Carson City on Tuesday night was seen Wednesday at a bar in Genoa, prompting the Douglas County Sheriff's Office to do a reverse 911 call to residents advising them of the situation.

The Douglas County Sheriff’s Office responded to the Genoa Mormon State Park on information that escapee James McDowell was seen with a woman in the area, said Douglas County Sheriff's Office Sgt. Pat Brooks.

The call was not intended to cause fear, but to inform the residents the potential that McDowell is/was in the area.

Deputies searched for McDowell in the area and were unable to locate him or a potential female accomplice.

McDowell is described as a white male adult, 6-foot-tall, 175 pounds, with numerous tattoos. He was believed to be wearing a white tank top. The female accomplice is described as 5-feet, 2-inches tall, weighing about 120 pounds.
McDowell was incarcerated for grand theft auto and has a felony warrant for his arrest out of Texas.

Anyone seeing someone matching McDowell’s description is asked to call 911.
