A Carson City man faces felony domestic battery charges after he allegedly punched and kicked his girlfriend in the head and teeth, causing a possible skull fracture.
Chad Russell Hunter, 40, is being held on $45,132 bail. He was arrested on Tuesday at around 8:30 p.m. at the Warren Inn.
According to a Carson City Sheriff's Office arrest, officers responded to the Warren Inn after a domestic dispute call. When deputies arrived the victim opened the door and officers saw that she was bleeding, bruised with her eye swollen nearly shut and blood coming from her nostril, according to the arrest report.
Hunter was in the room and taken outside by deputies, while officers interviewed the woman. She was asked who beat her up and "she slowly looked over at the man and pointed at him and said 'he did it,'" according to the arrest report.
As a deputy entered the room he found an abundance of blood stains on the carpet near the foot of the bed, and a towel with blood on it. Officers called for an ambulance and while they waited, the man was searched. Deputies found a blood stain on the tip of the man's left shoe and blood on his left sock. Deputies took photos of this and blood on the the man's shirt and shorts, palms and left index finger. He was then put into the back of the patrol car and booked.
A deputy who went to the hospital with the woman told him that the fight began after Hunter accused her of flirting with a tenant in the building. According to the arrest report, the victim stated that Hunter began to beat her as she sat in a chair, knocking her to the ground where punched and kicked her "over and over."
The officer advised the woman also had cracked teeth and a possible skull fracture and she had to be transported to intensive care in Reno. Hunter made statements that he did not hurt the woman in any way. A criminal history showed a domestic violence conviction in 2005.
Hunter faces two felony domestic battery charges and a misdemeanor domestic battery charge.
