A 31-year-old Carson City man was one of three arrested Wednesday, in the 300 block of East William Street by Carson City Sheriff's Office Special Enforcement Team officers in a heroin sting operation with the Tri-Net Narcotics Task Force.
Kenneth Jay Case faces a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor charges of obstructing an officer and possession of drug paraphernalia. Two others were arrested. The reports were not immediately available.
According to officers, the SET team met with undercover Tri-Net officers about an arrangement where there would be a purchase of a small amount of heroin from a man in the parking lot of a fast food restaurant.
One of the vehicles involved in the bust was a BMW driven by Case who also had a passenger with him, who was also subsequently arrested. During the sting, Case was observed not obeying commands being directed by SET officers, specifically refusing to unlock the car door. When he eventually did exit the vehicle, he refused an order to lay on the ground and struggled with officers before being detained.
Inside the BMW officers found a single ballon on the driver's side, which is how heroin is packaged, and a piece of folded tin foil. Case was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, possession of drug paraphernalia and obstruction. Bail: $4,049.
