Carson City Sheriff's deputies have arrested Christopher Michael Schumacher, 30, a man of unknown origin, as of 10:30 p.m. Tuesday. Schumacher was arrested based on felony allegations of third-offense domestic battery and disuading a victim from reporting a crime, gross misdemeanor allegations of child abuse/neglect and false imprisonment, and a misdemeanor allegation of violation of a probation warrant. Schumacher was arrested after allegedly battering his ex-girlfriend when she was discovered bleeding heavily from the nose and mouth; their nine-month-old child was allegedly in her hands while she was being beaten. Bail is set at $58,000.
Officers have also arrested the following individuals based on misdemeanor allegations:
- A 28-year-old transient man for a failure to appear traffic warrant in his name.
- A 32-year-old Beebe, Ariz., man for obstructing or delaying an officer.
- A 24-year-old Carson City man for violation of the conditions of a suspended sentence.
- A 28-year-old Carson City man for a failure to appear warrant in his name.
All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
