A 29-year-old Carson City man, with a history of drug convictions, was arrested and faces a misdemeanor paraphernalia charge and a bail conditions violation, also a misdemeanor.
Authorities went to the apartment late Friday after someone reported that a man was seen breaking in with a crowbar, according to the arrest report.
Deputies arrived at the apartment, spoke with Jones who said friends of his were hanging out on his porch.
Lowery and Trevino were on the porch at the time officers arrived. Trevino reportedly dropped the metal baton to the ground, while Lowery dropped a bag of meth, according to the arrest report.
Meanwhile, as Jones was speaking with an officer, a meth pipe was seen hanging out of his pocket, according to the arrest report.
The officer placed the man into custody and asked if there were others. The man said there were three adults and two children, his sons, ages 4 and 2.
Concerned for the welfare of the children, the deputy went inside a bedroom and saw a plastic bag of methamphetamine next to a bed, according to the arrest report.
Officers stopped the investigation and called the district attorney to request a search warrant, which was granted by a judge.
Inside the home, Mary Ann Bliss, 24, was asked permission by a deputy to search her purse. The woman granted permission and the officer found two hypodermic needles, a small plastic bag of meth and a small plastic bag of suspected heroin. She faces a felony charge of possession of a controlled substance and two misdemeanor charges. Bail is $2,500.
A search of the home convened, with officers finding a camera cylinder with 3.5 grams of suspected meth inside, and five small plastic bags commonly used to store the drug for sales. A bag of meth was found on the floor, next to the bed, along with a pipe, which could have been easily accessed by the small children, according to the arrest report.
A search through a dresser drawer resulted in the finding of a scale with meth residue on it, torches for smoking the drug, as well as a Hydrocodone pill with no known prescription, according to the report.
Because of the packaging materials and the amount of suspected meth found, a charge of possession of controlled substance for sales was added.
