A 35 year-old Carson City man was arrested and faces a felony charge of domestic battery after he allegedly took the mother of his children, threw her to ground, and strangled her.
The incident happened at around 3 this morning in the 2500 block of Lorraine Street after dispatch received an emergency 911 call and then a hang up. An officer was dispatched and met with the couple and one their sons. The woman explained the couple had a fight about the children and the couple's relationship with them, according to the arrest report.
The woman told police that the man became angry, twice threw her to floor, then got on top of her and placed both hands around her neck and started to strangle her. She fought him off, injuring her hand. She said the man then told her not to say anything to authorities.
The arresting officer noticed the injury to the woman's hand and observed that both she and her son's demeanor was agitated and afraid, according to the report. The officer, who photographed the victim, said in the report that there were no physical signs of injury to the woman's neck.
The man was deemed the aggressor and arrested after further interviews. He was booked on a felony charge of domestic battery with strangulation, a felony. Bail was set at $15,000.
