A Silver Springs man faces multiple charges, including felony assault with a deadly weapon, after he allegedly pointed a gun at his girlfriend and threatened to kill her.
Brian David Hannahs, 48, is being held on $28,132 bail. Charges include assault with a deadly weapon, domestic battery, DUI second offense, and carrying a concealed weapon.
According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the 3000 block of East Nye on Monday in reference to a man with a gun. Carson City dispatch advised that a man pointed a gun at a woman and threatened to kill her. The man then left on a motorcycle toward Airport Road.
Authorities stopped the Hannahs on the motorcycle in the 3000 block of Highway 50 east. The man stated that he had a gun in the saddlebag, according to the arrest report. The gun was booked into evidence.
Meanwhile, another deputy met with the victim who stated Hannahs, her boyfriend, came to her house and was kicking on the door. When she opened the door, the victim told authorities that Hannahs pointed a gun at her head and threatened to kill her, according to the arrest report.
There were two witnesses that saw Hannahs point the gun at the woman's head, and heard him say he was going to kill her, according to the arrest report. Deputies advised the arresting officers on-scene with Hannahs that there was cause to arrest him on suspicion of domestic battery, assault with a deadly weapon and carrying a concealed weapon.
Meanwhile deputies tried to complete a DUI investigation. Hannahs reportedly had slurred speech, the odor of alcohol, red glossy eyes and poor balance, according to the arrest report. He refused to complete any field sobriety tests, a preliminary breath test, and refused to answer any questions regarding his booking and information on him.
Hannahs was taken into custody for alleged DUI, among the other charges. A criminal history showed he had a prior DUI conviction. At jail, he had his blood drawn to determine how much alcohol was in his system.
