A Carson City man faces a felony battery with a deadly weapon charge and a misdemeanor domestic battery charge after allegedly beating his brother with a motorcycle chain.
Michael W. Putz, 28, is being held at the Carson City Jail on $33,132 bond.
According to the Carson City Sheriff's Office arrest report, deputies were called to the 1000 block of Woodside drive on Monday at about 10:55 p.m. in response call to reports of domestic battery inside an apartment.
Deputies met with the victim who said that his brother, Michael Putz, beat him with a motorcycle-type chain while he was sleeping. Upon arrival a deputy heard yelling from inside the apartment and "come and get me b****" according to the arrest report.

Witnesses confirmed Putz had been drinking for most of the day and for some unknown reason he went into the victim's room and began to beat him with a motorcycle chain, according to the arrest report.

The victim had swelling, bruising and fresh cuts. Others within the apartment advised Putz said he wasn't coming out of the apartment. Deputies heard yelling coming from Putz and a loud, banging noise where he was possibly swinging the chain against the walls, according to the report.

Deputies began to talk to Putz to get him out of the apartment. Putz told the officers to come in and get him and that he had a shot gun, according to the arrest report.

Putz eventually came to the window of the apartment, asked deputies how much time he would get and then began to swing a chain around. He told a deputy to get ready to fight and that he was going to kick his ass, according to the report. After a short time, Putz came down the stairs from the apartment with both hands behind his back but acted in an aggressive manner as if he were concealing a weapon, according to the report. He was taken down and cuffed and transported to jail.
