Carson City couple jailed after more than 200 grams of pot seized in traffic stop

Two Carson City residents were arrested Wednesday and face felony drug charges after more than 200 grams of marijuana were found in their possession.

Jessica Leigh Kline 19, and Kenneth Robert Bliven, 25, were arrested Wednesday, July 3, 7:11 p.m. at the intersection of Adams and Carson streets.

According to the arrest report, officer patrolling the area observed a vehicle failing to come to a stop. The car was occupied the two. During a traffic stop Bliven began to reach around toward the floorboard area of the Kia they were in. Officers noticed a smell of marijuana coming from the car.

A wants and warrant search was conducted and Kline had one confirmed warrant out of East Fork Township. She was taken into custody.

Bliven gave officers consent to search his backpack. There officers found several pieces of drug paraphernalia including a "tooter" straw, a meth pipe, two marijuana pipes, a digital scale and 16 grams of marijuana.

During an inventory of the vehicle additional marijuana was located in the trunk of the car, including a grocery bag with 122 grams of marijuana and a second back containing 74 ounces.

Bail for Kline: $3,274. Bail for Bliven, $3,774.

In other arrests:

— A 43-year-old man was booked into Carson City Jail Wednesday and faces two felony charges including burglary and uttering a forged instrument.

Warrants for Charles Reno of Reno were issued May 5, 2013 out of Carson City Justice Court.

— A 19-year-old Carson City woman was arrested July 4 and faces a felony warrant charge of burglary.
Danielle Ford-Allison was booked into Carson City Jail at 10:20 a.m. from the Washoe County Sheriff's Office.

The woman also had a probation hold placed on her with no bail, for being in violation of conditions of her probation. She was set up for arraignments in Justice Court Depart 2 on July 10 and District Court on July 8.

A 25-year-old Carson City woman was arrested July 4, 10:16 p.m. at the intersection of Saliman and Seely. She faces misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence, no proof of insurance, driving without a driver's license, and driving without headlights.

Officers stopped the woman stopped the vehicle the woman was driving because it didn't have its headlights on. The vehicle came to an abrupt stop in the number 2 travel lane going south.

The driver was instructed three times to turn on her headlights and she failed to do so. The woman was instructed to pull over to the side of the roadway and she did.

Officers spoke with the woman who admitted she had about four "shots" while she was in the park with her friends, the arrest report states.

The woman submitted to four field sobriety tests and failed all tests. Bail: $2,138.

— A 30-year-old transient was arrested July 4, 4:47 p.m. at 9th and Nevada Street. he faces a misdemeanor charge of being in violation of a suspended sentence out of Washoe County.

A 30-year-old Woodfords man was also arrested along with the man for possession of marijuana, an ounce or less and possession of drug paraphernalia.
The men were stopped by patrol officers for not stopping at a red light when traveling westbound on 5th Street.

Bail for the 30-year-old man, a transient, $1,000; bail for the Woodfords man, $2,274.

Those arrested and facing charges are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.
