A 32-year-old man in custody at Carson City Jail on other criminal matters had a charge of felony warrant, failure to appear added to charges he faces.
Michael Paul LaClaire, was wanted by Sparks police for charges relating to a felony Class C ($650 to $3,500) embezzlement case, according to the arrest report.
The warrant for his arrest was issued Aug. 14, 2013 after failing to appear for a mandatory status conference. Bail amount for the charges set by Sparks Township Justice Court: $1,000 cash.
In other arrests:
– A 48-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, Aug. 28, at 10:15 a.m. in the 3000 block of Arrowhead Drive. He faces a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery.
According to the arrest report, officers responded to a Jeanell Drive address after a 911 caller hung up the phone. Officers established there had been a domestic battery at the residence and the suspect had fled the scene.
He was located in a vacant field off of Arrowhead Drive, cuffed and taken to jail. Bail: $3,137.
— A 19-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday, Aug. 28, 7:23 a.m. in the area of South Edmonds and DeAnn streets after officers stopped her doing 55 mph in a 35 mph zone. She faces a misdemeanor charge of contempt of court after deputies checked the woman for warrants.
A warrant for her arrest was issued out of Carson City Justice Court on Aug. 14, 2013 for failure to appear in court. Bail: $1,000.
— A 47-year-old Las Vegas man was taken into civil protective custody on Wednesday, Aug. 28 at 5 p.m. in the 1600 block of Medical Parkway. He was intoxicated and uncooperative as a hospital patient, according to the arrest report.
Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
