Carson City arrests: Man jailed after 70 grams of meth, other drugs and counterfeit money seized

A 33-year-old Markleeville, Calif., man was arrested Saturday on felony drug charges including trafficking after methamphetamine, cocaine and heroin were found along with $200 in counterfeit bills, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Arrested was Bevan Andrew Price. During a search of the man’s vehicle, officers found 70 grams of methamphetamine, 7 grams of cocaine, 2 grams of heroin, various prescription pills and syringes, the booking report states.

According to the arrest report, deputies responded to the 400 block of East John Street at 8:47 a.m. regarding a male and female passed out inside a vehicle with the engine running.

A sheriff’s sergeant arrived and the officers approached the driver side of the vehicle where Price was at. The officer opened the door and asked the man to exit the vehicle. Price complied and was asked what he was trying to hide. The man replied “synthetic urine.” While speaking, the arresting deputy noticed the man wet his pants, had red watery eyes and was unstable on his feet. During the conversation, he appeared to be falling asleep, the arrest report states.

He advised he was at the location attempting to pick up medication for his meth addiction. Due to the man’s behavior and his lack of whereabouts he was asked if officers could search the vehicle. The man voluntarily consented and allowed for a search. A records checked confirmed the man was on probation in California.

Part of his probation conditions were search and seizure, no alcohol, drugs or firearms. A search was conducted where officers located the methamphetamine, cocaine, heroin, a loaded hypodermic needle, various prescription pills, additional used hypodermic needles, used cotton balls, a silver spoon and two open bottles of whiskey along with $200 in multiple denominations of counterfeit money. Bail: $53,637.

In other arrests:
— A 24-year-old Carson City man and an inmate at Carson City Jail was booked Sunday, 12:20 a.m. for felony suspicion of being in possession of a controlled substance while in jail.

Tyler Michael Charles faces the charges after methamphetamine was recovered from his wallet and a pipe that he hid in his underwear. Bail: $5,000.

— A 30-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday, 5:11 a.m. in the 2200 block of East Long Street on a misdemeanor warrant for petit larceny. Bail: $250.

— A 24-year-old Carson City woman as arrested Sunday, 9:51 a.m. in the 1900 block of G Street for misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery. According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to the area and spoke with the victim who said he was drinking vodka that morning with his girlfriend.

He said the two got into a verbal argument and that he punched a mirror causing a laceration to his knuckles. He said the woman became upset and began scratching his neck and shoulder area. The man stated he didn’t use any physical force against the woman. The man refused to write a statement. He had a preliminary breath test of .144, the arrest report states.

Deputies interviewed the woman who said she got home from work and began drinking vodka. She stated the two began arguing and that the man punched the bathroom mirror. She admitted to grabbing and scratching the man during the argument. She provided a preliminary breath test of .244 and was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.

— A 37-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 12:51 p.m. in the 1500 block of Walker Drive on misdemeanor hit and run causing damage, failure to render aid at an accident and a traffic violation. According to the arrest report, deputies were called to an accident at William and Roop streets in which one of the drivers involved fled the scene. Witnesses were able to provide the vehicle make and license plate number. A deputy drove to a residence and located the suspect’s vehicle and met with the man. Witnesses were able to identify the suspect and he was arrested. Bail: $1,361.

— A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 1:05 a.m. in the 1100 block of Woodside Drive on suspicion of obstructing an officer and having an unrestrained animal. Bail: $649. Another man was also arrested for obstructing and resisting arrest and being in possession of alcohol in public. Bail: $654.

— A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 10:56 p.m. in the area of North Carson and Rice streets for suspicion of DUI, possession of marijuana and talking on a cell phone while driving. According to the arrest report, the man was stopped after he was seen talking on a cell phone while driving.

The officer noticed an odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The officer asked if there was any marijuana in the vehicle. The man said he did not think there was any inside the vehicle. The officer asked him for consent to search and the man gave his consent. The officer asked if he had consumed any alcohol that day. The man said he had a few drinks earlier and that he smoked marijuana about three days ago, changing his story that he almost smoked marijuana, the arrest report states.

He was asked if he would perform field sobriety tests and he consented, failing the tests, and showing signs of marijuana impairment. He was taken to jail and where a legal blood draw was completed. Bail: $2,041.

— A 40-year-old Dayton man was arrested Saturday, 11:10 p.m. in the 2900 block of Highway 50 East for suspicion of DUI and failure to maintain a lane of traffic. According to the arrest report, a deputy made a traffic stop after observing a GMC truck drive into the curb on the right side of the road as he was driving down the off-ramp. As the truck continued it swerved to the far left lane and nearly crashed into the arresting deputy’s patrol car, the arrest report states.

The deputy could smell a moderate odor of alcohol coming from the man and asked him if he would perform standardized field sobriety tests. The man agreed, admitting to drinking two beers at a bar. He displayed impairments during the tests and did not agree to a preliminary breath test. He was arrested for suspicion of DUI. The deputy applied for a telephonic search warrant for a blood sample which was granted. The man told officers he had chest pains and was taken to the hospital.

In the emergency room the man was advised the search warrant for a blood sample was granted. A lab assistant attempted to draw the man’s blood however he become physically uncooperative and attempted to rip an IV out of his arm, the arrest report states. After he was medically cleared he was taken to jail. Bail: $1,224.
