A Carson City woman faces felony drug charges after allegedly hiding methamphetamine inside her rectum.
Samantha Nelson, 19, was arrested after being stopped on Saturday at Fourth and Carson streets. A passenger in the vehicle, Ryan Musto, 22, was also arrested and faces a felony drug charge as well as providing false identification to authorities. Bail was set at $20,000.
Nelson admitted to getting the methamphetamine in Oregon with Musto and then returning back to Northern Nevada. She told officers that while she was inside the patrol car awaiting questioning and not in custody, she slipped the drug packages in her body. The woman was taken to the hospital where the drugs were extracted, according to the arrest report. Her bail was set at $2,500.
During the traffic stop, officers pulled over the vehicle Nelson was driving because it had matched the description of a similar vehicle that had been reported stolen. During the stop officers saw that Musto had become nervous when asked for identification, according to the arrest report.
He declined to give officers his ID and provided a name that was false, according to the arrest report. Nelson also provided officers with a false name for Musto; said that he was a "friend with benefits" admitting later that she lied because she didn't want to rat him out, according to the arrest report.
A search of the car came up with a small bag of marijuana inside the car and two hypodermic needles loaded with meth.
