Warrant arrest accuses woman of drug trafficking near school

A 63-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Wednesday on a felony warrant alleging two counts trafficking a controlled substance within 1,000 feet of a school, a sheriff’s deputy said.

Kathryn Lee Jones was taken into custody at 4:50 p.m. at 604 West King Street. According to the warrant, a criminal complaint was signed Wednesday by the Justice of the Peace. The crimes allege trafficking a schedule 1 controlled substance, 28 grams or more within 1,000 feet of a school, a category A felony. Bail: $150,000.

In other arrests:

— A 25-year-old Minden man, Tyler Lee Stump-Jeffers, was booked Wednesday, 7:10 p.m. into Carson City Jail for a felony warrant alleging theft, and two misdemeanor warrants. Bail: $13,000.

— A 27-year-old man was arrested Tuesday for suspicion of felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor obstructing and resisting, and possession of drug paraphernalia, a sheriff’s deputy said.

Christopher Gaddis, of Nipomo, Calif., was taken into custody at 11:59 p.m. in the 3200 block of Market Street. According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the area and made contact with the driver and female passenger inside a car. The couple were found not moving and appeared unconscious when deputies approached the vehicle.

A deputy knocked on the vehicle window with the driver moving but not responding. The officer asked the driver to roll down the window several times with no response. The officer opened the door and noted a heavy odor of marijuana coming from the vehicle. The officer asked the driver if he could speak. The man mumbled that he did not want to speak. When the officer asked the man for identification, the driver reached for the door and attempted to close it, the arrest report states.

The officer again asked the man for identification. The man shouted “no” and began to attempt to force the door closed. He was ordered out of the vehicle. The man continued to resist commands and was forcibly removed. He was taken into custody for obstructing and resisting.

During the search of his person the officer located a sunglasses case that contained methamphetamine and a glass smoking device. A baggie of methamphetamine was also recovered. Bail: $3,800.

— A 37-year-old Carson City man was arrested Wednesday, 11:18 p.m. in the 1600 block of Spooner Drive for suspicion of child endangerment, a gross misdemeanor offense. According to the arrest report, the man allegedly made threats during two altercations while minor children were in presence during both altercations. Bail: $2,500.
