A 52-year-old man in custody at Carson City Jail on drug charges, had additional charges placed on him Saturday after the Carson City Sheriff’s Office Special Enforcement Team found drugs inside a room he had occupied.
Michael David Mandeville of Carson City was booked for felony suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia.
According to the arrest report, SET officers were allowed into the home after a report of drug paraphernalia found in the man’s bedroom at a Gold Hill Drive residence.
A canine conducted a sniff of the bedroom and alerted to the presence of drugs. SET deputies found a cardboard box under a nightstand that contained around 25 hypodermic devices, tin foil and a sterile water dropper.
One of the syringes was full of about 30cc of a clear liquid that appeared to be liquified methamphetamine, the arrest report states. There were also several rubber tourniquets and baggies in the room as well.
Additional booking charges were placed on Mandeville, who was already in custody at the Carson City Jail for suspicion of possession of a controlled substance and drug paraphernalia. Bail: $3,637.
In other arrests:
— A 61-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Tuesday for misdemeanor suspicion of DUI, failure to maintain a lane, driving with suspended registration and an alternative sentencing violation, a sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, at around 1:14 a.m. a deputy observed a black Nissan sedan fail to maintain its lane and drove onto the sidewalk north of the Carson Street and Fifth Street intersection. The deputy initiated a traffic stop at Musser and Plaza streets.
The man identified himself using a Nevada driver’s license. While speaking, the deputy could smell a strong odor of alcohol coming from his person, as well as red, watery eyes and slurred speech. The deputy checked for wants and warrants and learned the man was driving with a suspended registration and was under the supervision of the Department of Alternative Sentencing with a “no alcohol” condition, the arrest report states.
The man refused to answer questions and refused to participate in all field sobriety tests. He voluntarily and freely provided a preliminary breath test with a result of .202. He was arrested. At jail a phlebotomist collected two blood samples for evidentiary testing. Bail: $4,336.
— A Concord, Calif., man was arrested Monday in the 1700 block of North Carson Street for misdemeanor suspicion of petit larceny, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, deputies were called to Walmart in the 3200 block of Market Street in reference to a petit larceny.
Loss prevention advised a man wearing a Golden State Warriors jacket stole several items of merchandise by concealing the products inside his jacket and clothing. Loss prevention asked the suspect to stop but the man refused, exiting the store and leaving in a white van.
The loss prevention officer showed a video to a deputy of the suspect exiting the store without paying for the items. While speaking with the loss prevention manager, another deputy located the white van with the same license plate at a motel in the 1700 block of North Carson Street.
The deputy learned the room where the man was staying and made contact with him, observing the same Golden State Warriors jacket he wore during the theft.
The suspect was read his Miranda warning and agreed to speak. He fully admitted his guilt and stated he was hungry and had not been paid yet by his employer. He admitted to stealing several items of food, which was located in his room. Walmart loss prevention positively identified the man and the items from Walmart. He was arrested for suspicion of petit larceny. Bail: $352.
— A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 8:51 p.m. in the 2200 block of East William Street for a misdemeanor warrant issued April 19, 2018 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $295.
— A 25-year-old Sun Valley woman was arrested Monday, 7:30 p.m. at the Washoe County Detention Facility for contempt of court warrant issued Feb. 26, 2018 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $3,000.
— A 31-year-old Reno woman was arrested Monday, 7:30 pm at the Washoe County Detention Facility for a misdemeanor violation of suspended sentence warrant issued April 17, 2018 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.
