A Dayton man was arrested Thursday on a felony possession of stolen property warrant Thursday. Joshua Lee Irvine, 34, is being held in the Carson City Jail on $40,237 bail.
According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to a grocery store in the 1800 block of North Carson Street at 3:06 p.m. on a larceny report and a man being uncooperatives. Store employees stated the man put a two-pack of Flex lights, valued at $2.99, into a bag and walked out of the store without paying.
Officers arrived at and detained Irvine, who had the confirmed felony warrant out of Reno Justice Court for possession of a stolen vehicle. He was arrested at 3:20 p.m.
In other felony-related arrests:
A 27-year-old Dayton man was arrested Thursday, 4:40 p.m. in the 3300 block of Market Street. Drew Owen-Self was booked into Carson City jail on a felony warrant possession of a controlled substance for sale and misdemeanor failure to pay fines warrants out of Lyon County.
According to the arrest report, staff from a bank notified Carson City Sheriff's Office dispatch about a man who was told to leave the property. A deputy arrived and spoke with bank staff who said the man was seen entering a nearby casino.
Deputy Guimont approached the man who fit the description given to him and the man confirmed he had been walking around the parking lot of the bank for some time, waiting to pick up cell phones from a nearby AT&T store. He denied asking for money, according to the arrest report.
A wants and warrants check was done on him via Carson City dispatch where it was learned he had the two Lyon County warrants. Bail: $3,392.
In misdemeanor-related arrests:
A 42-year-old Dayton man was booked into Carson City jail Thursday, Dec. 19 on a charge of being in violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $3,000.
— A 34-year-old Jackson, Wyoming man was arrested Dec. 19, 7:05 p.m. in the 300 block of Hot Springs Road. He faces misdemeanor warrant charges of contempt of court and failure to obey. Both warrants were issued out of Carson City Justice Court.
The man was found after the driver of a vehicle was stopped for turning westbound on Hot Springs Road without using a turn signal. Two passengers were in the vehicle, including the man with the warrants. He was arrested and taken to jail based on the warrants. Bail: $1,650.
— A 38-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Dec. 19, 10:29 a.m. in the 2500 block of Baker Street. She was arrested based on a warrant out of Carson City Justice Court for failure to pay fines. Bail: $261.
Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
