— A 40-year-old Carson City woman was arrested early Wednesday morning in the 3200 block of Sherman Lane on misdemeanor charges of suspicion of DUI, first offense, and failure to maintain a lane of travel, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
According to the arrest report, officers were called at 1:55 a.m. to the area of Sherman Lane and Airport Road in reference to a possible DUI driver. Dispatch advised the reporting witness was following the vehicle that failed to maintain a travel lane and nearly struck a moped on the roadway.
Deputes caught up to the vehicle, which pulled into a driveway on Sherman Lane. The reporting witness was on the scene as well. The officer initiated his overhead lights and cycled the siren.
The vehicle opened the garage door and pulled into the enclosed garage. The officer made contact with the driver and explained the reason for the stop and asked for her driver’s license. The woman exited the vehicle and nearly fell over, the arrest report states.
The officer asked the woman to submit to field sobriety tests and the woman complied, failing to complete the tests. She submitted to a preliminary breath test with failed results and was arrested at 2:17 a.m. She was taken to jail and read the Nevada Implied Consent in which she chose a breath test. She submitted breath samples of .21 and .20, according to the arrest report. Bail: $1,224.
Those facing criminal charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
