Carson City men face charges after spraying windows with BBs during shooting spree

Two Carson City men face property destruction charges after allegedly shooting out 13 windows inside a building in the 2800 block of Arrowhead Drive that caused an estimated $5,200 in damage.

Eric Dean Larson, 23, faces a felony property destruction charge as well as being in the possession of a burglary tool, a gross misdemeanor. Garrett Wesley Blackwell, 20, faces a felony property destruction charge, a charge of discharging a firearm into a structure, also a felony, and a misdemeanor charge of discharging a firearm.

According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to the 2800 block of Arrowhead Drive early Saturday morning in reference to a series of glass-break intrusion alarms going off.

When deputies arrived they found 13 different windows had been shot out with BBs from a gun. In all 28 BB holes were in windows throughout the building. Shortly after the alarm call Sheriff Ken Furlong was driving his unmarked vehicle and located three subjects parked suspiciously in the 3600 block of Centennial Drive, according to the arrest report.

Deputies Charles Stetler and Thomas McDonald responded to the location with Stetler observing a BB gun in the back seat of the parked vehicle. The subjects were questions with Blackwell and Larson denying involvement, the report stated. The third subject admitted and identified Blackwell as the shooter and he told the officer where the BB gun was located in the car that Blackwell used to shoot the windows out, the report stated.

Larson then admitted to being the driver of the car. The third subject was in the back seat and filled out a statement in regards to the incident as a witness. Both Blackwell and Larson were taken into custody for felony property destruction charges, among other charges.

During the inventory of the vehicle, authorities found a paint ball hand gun, paint ball rifle-style gun, a BB gun and a large amount of BBs and CO2 cartridges. Also found was a home made "slim jim" which is commonly used to open locked car doors, the report stated.

In other crime news:

— A Carson City man who left behind his footprints in the snow for officers to trace faces a felony vehicle burglary charge after admitting to breaking into vehicles.
Patrick David Wilson, 21, was taken to jail late Sunday and placed on $25,000 bail.
Wilson was reportedly observed along the streets of Panaca and Tangerine breaking into cars by lifting door handles, according to the arrest report.
Officers followed footprints in the snow stopping from car to car on Panaca and then east on Myles streets. The arresting officer then got to Panaca and Maple Creek and detained Wilson who admitted to breaking into vehicles, the arrest report stated. The man showed the officer a particular vehicle where he took several coins from a basket on the dash.
The vehicle owner confirmed that his vehicle was rummaged and that a basket on top of his dash was broken and laying in the snow.

— A Carson City man being held in the Carson City jail, faces a felony charge of being a prisoner in possession of a weapon.
Jail personnel on Sunday discovered a toothbrush that had been sharpened to a point on the floor of inmate Steven John White. Surveillance video shows the prison scratching his right wrist, an object and a toothbrush. The footage and photographs were booked into evidence.

— A Carson City liquor store clerk was arrested and faces a felony charge of possessing false identification and a misdemeanor charge of selling alcohol to a minor.
According to the arrest report, deputies sent a 20-year-old decoy to Sierra Wines in the 1400 block of East Williams Street. The decoy successfully purchased a six-pack of Budweiser.
Officers made contact with the clerk, Krishna Menon, 42, who reportedly was watching a movie on his laptop computer and failed to ask the minor for his ID or age, according to the arrest report.
Deputies asked Krishna for identification. He said he didn't have any ID but that he could tell the officers his name and birth date. Deputies then asked him if he had a wallet and the man said he did and showed the officer a wallet, opening it, where officers saw a U.S. Employment card. The man quickly closed the wallet and pulled out a Wells Fargo debit card instead. Officers asked to see the other forms of ID, and the man pulled out a faded fake Social Security card and the employment card, which was also a fake, the report stated. The man told officers he had bought the IDs in Los Angeles.

— A Stagecoach woman was arrested on Saturday and faces multiple drug charges.
Nichelle Marie Dabe, 22, was arrested and booked on possession of a controlled substance and possession of a prescription drug without a prescription, both felonies and misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of drugs, speeding (65 mph in a 35 mph) and drug paraphernalia.
Officers pulled over the woman on Saturday at about 8:30 p.m. after she was clocked by radar going 65 mph in a 35 mph zone in icy road conditions on College Parkway, according to the arrest report.
The woman had red watery eyes and slurred speech but did not smell of alcohol. Dabe said she had taken medications for pain she identified as "Norco" and "morphine" both which can cause driving impairments, the report stated.
The woman told officers that she was a diabetic and that she is insulin dependent. Paramedics called to the scene tested her and found her blood sugar at a normal level, the report stated. The woman then agreed to submit to a series of field sobriety tests in which she failed. She was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
During inventory of the car, officers found several forms of drugs, packages of drugs, and drug paraphernalia including several hypodermic needles, plastic wrappers with heroin residue; 11 pieces of used foil with heroin residue; a meth pipe with burnt residue; a small balloon used to store heroin; a bag with five yellow pills, a bag with a white crystal substance, and assorted other pieces of drug paraphernalia.
The woman was read her Miranda rights an she agreed to speak with the officer. She told officers that the clear plastic bag was "meth" and the yellow pills were her prescription medication, hydrocodone.
The woman was taken to jail where two blood samples were taken.

— A Carson City man was arrested after he allegedly went on a drinking and prescription drug binge, slapping and strangling his wife.
Robert Daniel Hughes 56, faces a felony charge of domestic battery, strangulation, causing bodily harm. He is being held on $5,00 bail.
According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to the 2700 block of Century Drive on Friday Nov. 19 at around 9 p.m. and met with the victim who said her husband had been drinking and was on prescription drugs for about three hours when he began to physically abuse her.
Hughes allegedly knocked the woman's glasses off of her face, shoved her into a bedroom door, slapped her in the face, slammed her head against a wall and again into a jewelry hanger causing a laceration to the back of her head, and then grabbed her by the throat, according to the arrest report.
The man said he didn't remember the incident. Officers observed the victim's injuries were consistent with her story, and Hughes was arrested. Once at jail he submitted to a preliminary breath test where he blew a .202.

— Those arrested are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Carson City sheriff's deputies make felony drug-related arrests

A 51-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 8:34 p.m. in the 1400 block of North Carson Street on suspicion of possessing a controlled substance.

Mark Tyzbir, 51, was arrested after Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies went to the residence after learning of a domestic dispute there.

Officers made contact with Tyzbir who was on the sidewalk and asked him if he and his wife had been fighting. Tyzbir told the officer he didn't touch his wife. He was asked again if he and his wife had been fighting. This time Tyzbir said he and his wife had been arguing but that was it. Officer asked Tyzbir if his wife was in the apartment. The man replied she was.

Officers went to the home and announced loudly it was the sheriff's office. After several minutes of announcing there wasn't an answer. Deputies entered the apartment to look for the woman. The officers walked in the front door and within five feet of the door saw a small clear baggie on the floor. Officers continued to look in the apartment for the woman and were unable to locate her.

The officer walked back outside and showed Tyzbir the baggie in which he said it was a new empty one. The officer saw that it had a small amount of white crystal powder determined later to be methamphetamine. He was arrested for possession. Bail $2,500.

In other arrests:
A Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 12:12 p.m. in the 500 block of East Long Street on a felony warrant out of Douglas County. Michael John Harrell, 20, was being held without bail awaiting extradition.
The felony arrest warrant was issued Jan. 14, 2014 out of Douglas County on a charge of failure to appear in drug court.

He also had a misdemeanor warrant for his arrest issued Jan. 9, 2014 from Carson City Justice Court. The charge is failure to report for drug testing. Bail for the Carson City charge, $3,000.

— A 33-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Friday, 1:57 a.m. in the 2200 block of Highway 50 East on a misdemeanor failure to appear traffic warrant issued out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $740.

— A Fresno woman was taken into civil protective custody Jan. 23, 9:30 p.m. in the 400 block of Agate Way.

— A 30-year-old Carson City man was arrested Jan. 23, 4:45 p.m. in the area of East Nye and Loraine streets. He faces a misdemeanor charge of driving on a suspended license. Bail: $632.

Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.

Carson City authorities busy with felony and misdemeanor-related arrests

Carson City authorities made numerous felony and misdemeanor arrests recently, including arrests for domestic violence, car theft and probation violation court orders.

A 25-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Feb. 7, 7:04 p.m. in the 400 block of Simone Avenue on an outstanding felony warrant out of Douglas County.

Jeslyn Marie Stephans was arrested after officers went to her home for a call of a domestic disturbance. As officers checked identifications it was learned Stephans had an August 2011 warrant issued out of East Fork Township for her arrest. The warrant was for alleged felony embezzlement.

In other felony-related arrests:

— A Carson City man was arrested Feb. 6, 9:50 a.m. in the 4700 block of East Nye Street and faces felony charges of parole probation violation and using a false ID to avoid prosecution.
Tanner Rust, 22, also faces a misdemeanor charge of obstructing. According to the arrest report officers were interviewing subjects regarding a criminal matter of stolen vehicles, according to the arrest report.
Officers contacted Rust's mother who informed them that her son was in her house and gave permission for officers to enter the home to look for him. Officers found the man hiding in his mother's bedroom closet, according to the report.
Wanted by Nevada Parole officers, he gave deputies his brother's name to avoid arrest and faces the felony charge. He was being held without bail on the parole and probation violation and $5,000 bail for a charge of providing officers with false identification.

— A 21-year-old Carson City man, Brandon Shirley, was arrested Feb. 4, 7:45 p.m. in the 3400 block of Airport Road and faces a felony charge of domestic battery with strangulation.
According to the arrest report, Shirley and his girlfriend got into an argument in the 2000 block of Long Street. The argument escalated when the woman said she was going to call police. The woman told authorities Shirley pinned her down on the by by holding her throat with his left hand, squeezing until she couldn't breath, according to the arrest report. The woman said the man then punched her in the face several times with a closed fist and then released the choke hold on her. As the woman got up, the woman said the man pushed her in the back causing her to fall down the stairs causing pain to her tail bone, the report states. Shirley then told the woman he was taking her to her brother's in the 3400 block of Airport Road. The brother wasn't home but the woman advised two men what had happened. A few minutes later Shirley showed at the door and started knocking and trying to force his way into the apartment.
The woman's injuries were consistent with what she told police, according to the report. She had a black eye, a swollen bottom lip and redness around her nose that was swollen. She also had redness around her neck and a large bruise on her right arm where she said the man bit her.
The man had scratch marks on his chest and neck and redness and a bite mark on his right wrist. Both declined at the time to go to the hospital. Shirley was arrested at the scene and the woman was taken to the hospital where she was treated and released for a concussion, the police report states. Bail: $20,000.

— A Carson City man and a transient were arrested and faces felony charges after a vehicle was stolen Feb. 5, 10:56 a.m. in the area of Douglas and Airport Road.
Lenox Leonel Lacour, 28, faces a felony charges of possession of stolen property and eluding with endangerment, and misdemeanor charges of hit and run with property damage, reckless driving wanton disregard, driving under the influence of drugs and violations on conditions of a suspended sentence. Bail set at $50,411.
Daniel Maxfield faces a charge of possessing stolen property. Bail $25,000

— A 23-year-old Gardnerville man was arrested in the 2000 block of East William Street Feb. 7 at 8:18 p.m. for felony violation of state parole and probation orders. Tyler Scott Schroeder was found in a casino drinking a beer and playing a slot machine, the arrest report states. State Parole and probation advised arrest after it was in the court orders that he not be in a bar or lounge area and consuming alcohol, the report states.

— A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 2000 block of Airport Road Feb. 7 3;42 p.m. for being in violation of parole and a warrant for contributing to the delinquency of a minor. Police were called to the area after a victim said he was battered after attempting a repossess a vehicle, the arrest report states. A wants and warrants check showed Kevin Mullen had an arrest warrant issued Jan. 3 out of Carson City Justice Court for alleged contributing to a minor, a violation of his parole, the arrest report states.

Misdemeanor arrests include:

— A 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 600 block of Minnesota street Feb. 7, 8:48 p.m. and faces misdemeanor charges of possessing less than an ounce of marijuana, violation of conditions of a suspended sentence and a warrant for violations of a suspended sentence.

— A 26-year-old Carson City woman was arrested at the intersection of Winnie Lane and Carson Street on Feb. 7, 11:06 p.m. and faces misdemeanor charges of DUI, marijuana possession, and paraphernalia, speeding and not using a turn signal.

— A 47-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 60 block of Condor Circle at 1:15 p.m. Feb. 6, for violation of a suspended sentence involving discharge from substance abuse and anger management counseling and failure to provide proof of community service completion.

— A 63-year-old homeless woman faces a charge of domestic battery after being arrested in the 1000 block of North Minnesota street Feb 6 at 2:48 p.m. The woman was arrested for allegedly slapping, hitting and kicking her husband in front of Behavior Health Services.

— A 33-year old Carson City woman was arrested Feb. 6, 10:12 p.m. at Second and Allouette on a confirmed misdemeanor warrant for failure to complete jail time.

— A 21-year-old Dayton man was arrested Feb. 6, 12:42 a.m. in the 500 block of North Carson Street and faces a charge of indecent conduct. Officers saw the man in a parking lot vomiting near a vehicle. The arresting officer asked him how he was getting home and the man repeatedly talking over the officer saying he wasn't driving. With the vomit at the man's shoes and around the parking lot, the man was arrested without incident and told the officer he thought it was funny. The man blew a PBT of .141.

— A 39-year-old unemployed Carson City man was arrested Feb. 5 in the 700 block of Hot Springs Road on two misdemeanor warrants of failure to pay fines and failure to report for community service.

— A 27-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 1700 block of North Edmonds on Feb. 5, 8:14 p.m., and faces misdemeanor charges including domestic battery, battery, possession of drug paraphernalia and possession of marijuana.
According to the arrest report the man and his girlfriend began arguing after she picked him up from work.

The argument escalated and got physical with the man, who had been drinking grabbed his girlfriend, picked her up and pinned her on the couch and then onto the floor. The woman's 10-year-old saw this and went to the neighbor's house for help. The neighbor came and saw the man was on top of the woman and tried to get him off. The man pushed the neighbor several times in the chest area, the report states.

Officers found marijuana that belonged to the man inside the house as well as a glass pipe. The man took a PBT test and blew a .143. His criminal history showed he had a prior domestic battery conviction in 2008, the report states. Bail: $7,000.

— A 34-year-old Carson City woman was arrested in the 100 block of Corbett on Feb. 5, 10:39 p.m. and faces a disorderly conduct charge. The woman, who had not been taking her medication, was reportedly yelling and screaming outside of her apartment that people were coming to rape and kill her, according to the police report. A nearby resident asked that the woman stop yelling because her infant was sleeping. The resident said the woman's yelling had been an ongoing problem for four days and requested a citizen's arrest. Bail: $242.

— A 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 3400 block of Airport Road Feb. 5, 7:20 p.m. on failure to appear traffic warrants.

— A 41-year-old Carson City man was arrested in the 300 block of Burton street, 12:52 a.m. Feb. 5 and faces misdemeanor charges of domestic battery and possession of drug paraphernalia.

Those arrested and facing charges are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Carson City Court Clerk, Little League coach jailed on suspicion of statutory sexual seduction

A 25-year-old Carson City Justice Court Clerk and Carson Little League coach has been arrested on felony charges, including statutory sexual seduction involving a 15-year-old male, Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong confirmed Saturday.

Arrested was Armando Navarro. He was taken into custody for suspected statutory sexual seduction and committing certain sexual acts in public, both felonies, and indecent or obscene exposure, a gross misdemeanor. As of Saturday afternoon, Naravarro had made arrangements to post bail.

According to the arrest report, aIt 10:57 p.m., Friday, Carson City sheriff’s deputies responded to the area of Cottonwood Drive and Cedar Street in North Carson City after receiving 911 calls of multiple shots being fired in the area. Upon arrival, deputies located a black Dodge sedan parked at the curb with two males in the vehicle.

As they approached the vehicle, one male was observable putting on his shirt, and once contact with the vehicle was made, a second male (nude) was observed attempting to get his clothes on. Also in view was a toy pistol in the front seat.

The two males were identified by officers: The first was Navarro, a Carson City Justice Court Clerk, and the second was a 15 year old juvenile male. Both admitted to officers that they had had sexual contact. The teen later told detectives that the two had met two months prior on a social website and had met for sex at Navarro's residence, the arrest report states.

Carson City and Court management officials have been coordinated with throughout this matter and taken steps to insure the integrity of the systems. Navarro had only been employed by the Justice Court for approximately 6 months. Court officials have indicated that he is expected to be terminated from employment immediately.

While Sheriff’s detectives were able to learn that Navarro was associated with the Carson City Little League athletic group, this incident does not appear to have any connection to the league. Regardless, Little League executive officials were informed of the incident. As a result of the early notification and weekend, league officials were not in a position to comment, said Furlong.

Carson City deputy catches flasher in the act

A Sparks man was arrested Tuesday afternoon for felony indecent exposure after a Carson City deputy allegedly caught the suspect masturbating near the drive through of a North Carson Street fast food restaurant.

According to the arrest report, a call about this incident was received from a person in the drive through. The responding deputy stated that he approached William Landers, who was then standing near an adjacent grocery store, and clearly saw that he was exposing himself and masturbating in public view.

Bail for Landers was set at $7,500.

Felony grand larceny charge added after truck theft in Carson City Smith's parking lot

A 31-year-old Reno woman faces a felony charge of grand larceny after Carson City deputies were able to look at surveillance video that showed her taking a 2005 Dodge truck on July 10 from the parking lot at Smith's.

Kendra Ann Harkey was brought up on the felony grand larceny charge Tuesday, July 16 in addition to other charges, including felony possession of stolen property. The truck was located with Harkey inside in the 1400 block of Rand Avenue. With the two felony charges she is being held on $50,000 bail in the Carson City Jail.

In other arrests:

— A 34-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, July 15 in the 200 block of Carson Meadows. Jacob Robert Martin faces a felony charge of being in violation of his probation.

According to the arrest report, officers were called to the residence regarding a noise complaint. Upon arrival officers could hear a loud radio broadcast from the street coming from an apartment.

Officers knocked on the door several times, with the door being wide open but the screen door shut. Officers opened the door after seeing a person's foot near the home entertainment system. Martin was sleeping soundly. The officer turned the radio down and called to him but the man would not wake up, according to the arrest report.

After shaking the man's leg vigorously, he did wake up. As he spoke, officers could smell a strong odor of alcohol. It was learned during a warrant and background check that Martin was on probation with a "no drinking" clause. A preliminary breath test was given where the man blew a .17, the arrest report states. He was arrested for being in violation in terms of his probation. He is on a no bail hold.

— A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, July 15, and faces a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear on a traffic citation. He was in the Carson City Sheriff's Office to recover property when it was learned he had an arrest warrant. Bail: $187.

— A 36-year-old Carson City woman faces a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery. The woman was arrested in the 400 block of Saliman Road at 1:05 p.m. According to the arrest report, Carson City sheriff's officers were called to the location on a domestic battery report.

The victim, a man, said his ex-girlfriend came over to his home demanding that he remove photos of her from his computer. He told police a verbal argument began. When he wouldn't allow the woman full access to the computer, the man told police she hit him with her hands, fists, a computer cable and a flip flop.

Deputies report the man had marks on his body, including a red, non-bleeding abrasion to his left lat muscle area behind and below his arm pit. The man said the injuries happened when she hit him with the computer cord. He told authorities he called 911 as he fended the woman's blows with his left arm raised, the arrest report states.

The woman was interviewed. She told police the man would not let her send an email to herself from his computer and said the man put her in a control hold when she attempted to use the computer, the arrest report states.

She told police the man unplugged the modem cord and she said she struggled to get out of his hold and struck at him several times to get away using her left hand. She said she hit him with the modem cord with her left hand as he held her. She had marks on her arm initially she claimed were from the man. The man said they were marks from when she hit him.

The marks on the victim's arms were not consistent with the woman's story and the victim denied he put the woman into a control hold or struck her. Based on the totality of circumstances, the woman was arrested for domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.

— A 47-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday, July 16, 5:37 a.m. at Arrowhead and Goni. He faces a misdemeanor warrant charge issued July 9 out of Carson City Justice Court. He was stopped based on the warrant that appeared when officers ran his license plate. Bail: $3,000.

— A Carson City man was arrested Monday, July 15, at 12:14 p.m. in the 3000 block of Champion Street after being chased and captured by police. According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatched to an address on Viking after a report came in of a suspicious vehicle in the neighborhood.

Police spoke with the man and learned he had two misdemeanor warrants for probation violation. The man fled from deputies, climbing over fences to escape. He was located in the 3000 block of Champion and taken into custody. Bail: $6,000.

— A Carson City man was arrested July 13, 3:34 p.m. in the 200 block of Jeanell. He faces two misdemeanor warrant charges. Officers went to the residence on a report of a domestic battery in progress. Officers learned there wasn't a battery but did run the man's name through a warrant check where the two warrants were entered June 26, 2013 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $6,000.

— A 20-year-old Gardnerville woman was arrested July 14, 9:16 p.m., at Fairview and Desatoya. She faces a misdemeanor warrant charge of criminal contempt. Bail: $500.

— A 61-year-old Carson City man was arrested July 14, 8:30 p.m. at the intersection of Fairview and Desatoya. He faces a misdemeanor charge of DUI. During the DUI checkpoint Sunday the man was observed changing seats with a woman inside a vehicle prior to reaching the check point. The man performed unsatisfactory on the field sobriety tests, the arrest report states. In the preliminary breath test he blew a .083. He was taken to jail where he chose a blood draw. Results of the draw were not available at the time of this report. Bail: $1,132.

— A 23-year-old Carson City man was arrested July 13, in the 1800 block of North Carson Street. He faces misdemeanor charges of disorderly conduct and violation of terms set out in probation conditions. The man was arrested after being seen running around a motel parking lot yelling at people. A preliminary breath test was given where the man blew a .129, according to the arrest report. Bail: $3,242.

— A 54-year-old Carson City man was arrested and faces a charge of hit and run property damage. The arrest was made on a warrant issued July 11, 2013 out of Carson City Municipal Court.

Those arrested and facing charges are innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.

Carson City sheriff's arrest log: Woman jailed on felony theft charge

A 27-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Tuesday on a felony count of grand larceny, and lessor charges after allegedly stealing property and then returning it to the victim over two days, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

Arrested was Amber Marie Heckman. She also faces charges of possession of a prescription drug without a prescription, a gross misdemeanor, and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bail has been set at $28,637.

According to the arrest report, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy was called May 8 to a Sweet Way residence regarding the alleged grand larceny and learned the suspect, Heckman, was involved. On Tuesday, the victim informed the deputy that Heckman had returned the stolen property to them on May 9 and May 10.

On Tuesday, officers observed Heckman driving, made a traffic stop and placed her under arrest on the felony theft charge. The deputy located two plastic baggies inside the woman’s purse with meth residue. She was read her Miranda rights in which she waived, answering the officer’s questions.

She admitted to committing the grand larceny and admitted the baggies in her purse contained methamphetamine. She was also found to be in possession of a pill in which she did not have a prescription. Bail: $28,637.

In other arrests: Two Carson City women, ages 52 and 30, were taken into custody Tuesday 3:52 p.m. in the area of south Curry and Piaute on misdemeanor charges of petit larceny.

The two allegedly stole several items of clothing from Kohl’s department store. The items were valued $311. Bail for both women: $352.

A 22-year-old Carson City man, Nicholas J. Stockwell, was arrested Thursday, 1 p.m. on two felony burglary warrants out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $40,000.

— A 65-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 8:30 a.m. near the 200 block of Lee Street on two misdemeanor Nevada Highway Patrol failure to appear warrants, and a misdemeanor Contempt of Court warrant out of Carson City Justice Court. Officers first attempted to contact a different resident at that address and discovered the 65-year-old had three warrants out for his arrest. Bail: $1,624.

— A 25-year-old transient woman was arrested Thursday, 3:50 p. m. near the intersection of Fairview and Desatoya after being pulled over for speeding. The woman was arrested on two separate misdemeanor warrants: one violation of a suspended sentence warrant out of Carson City Justice Court, and one contempt of court warrant out of East Fork Township Justice Court. Bail: $3,250.

— A 27-year-old Carson City woman was arrested at Thursday, 5:10 p.m. near the 4200 block of South Carson Street on allegations of second-offense driving under the influence, after failing a field sobriety test. Bail: $2,500.

— A 64-year-old transient man was arrested Thursday, 6 p.m. for Civil Protective Custody due to high levels of intoxication at the 1600 block of Medical Parkway. No bail was set.

— A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested Thursday, 12:30 a.m. near the intersection of Lompa Lane and Highway 50 East, on a misdemeanor failure to comply warrant out of Reno. Bail: $980.

Those arrested and facing charges are considered innocent until proven guilty in a court of law.


Carson City deputies arrest man on felony drug possession charge

A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday on a felony charge of possession of methamphetamine. According to the arrest report, Carson City Sheriff's Office deputies responded to the 3200 block of Imperial Way at 7:42 a.m. on a report of a man slumped over the wheel of a vehicle that belonged to his girlfriend.

Officers arrived and the man, Joseph Scurti, was evaluated by paramedics. The man was searched for weapons where officers found a meth pipe with meth residue and a small clear plastic baggie that tested positive for methamphetamine, according to the arrest report. He was arrested at 9:12 a.m. Bail: $3,637.

Scurti's 24-year-old girlfriend was also arrested and faces misdemeanor charges of being in possession of drug paraphernalia and violation of conditions through Alternative Sentencing.

According to the arrest report, officers met with the woman explaining to her that her boyfriend was taken to jail for possession charges after being found in her vehicle. The woman told officers that she used meth the night prior but didn't have any on her or in the vehicle and did not give consent to search.

An exterior sniff with a K9 gave a positive alert for drugs, the report states. Inside the vehicle was a small baggie that had several smaller baggies inside of it, commonly used for packaging and distributing narcotics. She was arrested for possession of paraphernalia and violation of Alternative Sentencing conditions. Bail: $4,137.

— A 33-year-old Reno man was arrested Monday, 9:20 a.m. in the 700 block of Silver Oak Drive on a misdemeanor warrant for contempt of court out of Sparks. Bail: $810.

— 20-year-old Carson City man was booked into Carson City Jail on Monday, 2:30 p.m. on a misdemeanor contempt of court warrant issued April 18, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $175.

— A 41-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 10:28 p.m. at a casino in the 1900 block of North Carson Street. According to the arrest report, the man admitted to drinking inside a casino when he had a court order through Alternative Sentencing stating that he was not allowed to be drinking. Bail: $1,000.

Crime Log: Carson City man under house arrest arrested in domestic battery incident

Carson City Sheriff deputies this morning arrested Jorge Oscar Mattiello, 47, of Carson City, for felony preventing a victim from reporting a crime, plus misdemeanor counts of domestic battery, violation of suspended sentence and a failure to appear warrant for traffic violations.

According to the arrest report, the victim said she came home and found the suspect passed out on the couch. She said later the suspect came into the bedroom and was screaming profanities at her, refusing her requests to leave. When she attempted to call 911, she said the suspect grabbed her and pushed her on the bed, and tried to take the phone from her. The victim started screaming, and another roommate came into the bedroom and pulled the suspect off of her.

The suspect admitted to deputies that he had consumed four beers that evening, in apparent violation of his house arrest. Bail was set for $10,915 plus administrative fees.

Deputies on Friday arrested April Kuhner, 29, of Minden, for felony fraudulent possession of prescription drugs.

According to the arrest report, the office manager of the medical facility in the 1500 block of Medical Parkway reported that she had found a bottle of Hydrocondone in Kuhner's desk. The bottle had the suspect's name on it, and the name of one of the doctors at the medical facility, even though the suspect had never been a patient of that doctor.

The suspect allegedly admitted to phoning in six prescriptions for herself to local pharmacies over the past few months, pretending to be the doctor's nurse. She also admitted to ingesting several of the pills the past two days.

Kuhner's bail was set at $2,500.

Garrett John Hatch, 20, an inmate at the Carson City Jail, was arrested Friday for three felony counts of violating an extended protection order.

According to the arrest report, the victim claimed Hatch had been attempting to contact her and the couple's child through phone calls to the suspect's mother, in violation of the protective order. The arresting deputy was able to listen to three recordings of phone calls placed by the suspect to his mother where he talked with his child, and tried to pass along messages to the reporting party.

Bail was set at $15,000.

Alfredo Geraldo Rosales, 39, of Carson City, was arrested Friday evening in the 1000 block of South Carson Street on an outstanding felony warrant. His bail was set at $2,500.

Jason Michael Souza, 24, most recently an inmate of the Nevada Department of Corrections, was transferred to Carson City Jail on Friday on a felony fugitive from justice warrant out of Redding, Calif. He was held without bail pending extradition.

Carson City sheriff’s arrest log: Man jailed after throwing ice chunks at cars, officer injured

A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Sunday after allegedly throwing chunks of ice and other objects at vehicles causing property damage, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said. A legislative police officer who helped detain the man before deputies arrived suffered a broken hand.

Austin Thomas Sears was arrested Sunday, 7:04 a.m. in the area of Third and Stewart streets on felony and misdemeanor charges of property destruction and battery. According to the arrest report, deputies were dispatch to the area regarding a man who was seen throwing objects at passing vehicles.

Deputies arrived and observed two men holding down the suspect. One of the men identified himself as a legislative police officer who was on his way to work. The officer was punched in the face by the suspect and broke his hand during the altercation, the arrest report states.

As more deputies arrived, Sears attempted to pull away from officers who were trying to place him in handcuffs. He was placed in a patrol car where he then began to kick the doors and windows. He was warned and advised multiple times to stop kicking or he would be pepper sprayed, the arrest report states.

Deputies spoke with the original reporting witness who pointed to a vehicle in the area that had sustained significant damage, which was estimated by a deputy to be more than $5,000.

Deputies made contact with another victim who wrote in his statement that he was driving in the same area when his vehicle was struck by a chunk of ice. He stated in a written report that the “two victims pulled over to subdue the man. The suspect “struck one of them while they subdued him,” according to the arrest report.

Sears was booked on a felony and misdemeanor charges of property destruction and battery. He took a breath test with a .196 result. Bail: $6,774.

In other arrests: A 25-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on domestic battery charges and child endangerment after allegedly hitting her mother in front of her younger sibling, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

The woman was arrested in the 2200 block of East Long Street at 4:36 p.m. Her 10-year-old brother had called 911 to report the suspect was in a physical altercation with their mother.

The suspect, who has a history of mental health issues, is accused of physically assaulting her mother, punching her in the chest and face several times and in the altercation prevented her from calling police by slapping a cell phone out of her hands.
The woman was arrested on a felony charge of domestic battery third offense, preventing a victim from reporting a crime, both felonies and gross misdemeanor child endangerment. Bail: $22,500.

Carson Now is withholding the name of the accused to protect family members.

— A 26-year-old Carson City man, Eugene Tyler Lawson, was arrested Saturday, 1:56 a.m. in the 3200 block of South Carson Street on a felony warrant issued out of Douglas County District court and a misdemeanor warrant. Bail: $6,000.

— A 20-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 2:44 a.m. in the area of Lompa Lane and Sherman Street on suspicion of DUI second offense, failure to maintain a lane of traffic, reckless driving, minor consuming alcohol and criminal contempt.

According to the arrest report, officers were called to the area for a fight in progress. As officers arrived a deputy observed a vehicle that drove away quickly from the scene.

The vehicle took off at high rate of speed and then went off the side of the road where it became stuck. Officers ordered those inside to get out of the vehicle. The driver appeared intoxicated and admitted to the deputy that he had been drinking. He was arrested and taken to jail where he submitted to a blood test. Bail: $4,238.

— A 28-year-old man was arrested Saturday, in the area of Brown Street and Highway 50 East on a misdemeanor domestic battery warrant issued Oct. 23, 2015 out of Dayton Township. Bail: $3,140.

— A 26-year-old Carson City woman was booked into jail Sunday, 6:50 p.m. on two misdemeanor contempt of court warrants issued out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $6,000.

— An 18-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 1:27 p.m. in the area of Deer Run Road near Ambrose Park on misdemeanor hit and run causing property damage and suspicion of DUI.

According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the area after a reporting witness said his fence was damaged and the suspect that hit it fled the scene.

The reporting witness followed the driver and the officer caught up with them. The deputy checked to see if the man was injured. The vehicle was on its driver side. The man complied with the officer’s commands and was asked if he had been drinking. The man replied he was drunk. He then declined to take a field sobriety test and said there was no point in taking the test.

The arrest report states he was extremely regretful for what happened and said she should not have had alcohol and that if he had friends they would not have allowed him to drink and drive, the arrest report states.
At jail he provided two breath samples with results of .194 and .200 BAC. Bail: $1,774.

— A 21-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 9:05 p.m. in the area of East Fifth and Stewart Street on misdemeanor suspicion of domestic battery and probation violation.

According to the arrest report, officers were called to the area and met with the victim and two witnesses who advised the man came over to their residence and began arguing and then pushed his girlfriend to the ground and held her there. He was arrested on suspicion of domestic battery. Bail: $4,137.

Gardnerville woman jailed on felony DUI charge

A Dayton man was booked into Carson City Jail Monday and faces a felony warrant charge of embezzlement. Sergio Joseph Torres, 24, had an outstanding warrant for his arrest from Nov. 18, 2007, for the alleged crime of embezzlement of value from $250 to $2,500, a category C felony. Bail: $5,000.

In other arrests:
A Gardnerville woman was arrested Monday on suspicion of driving under the influence after being found inside a vehicle in the 1800 block of Maxwell Drive in Carson City.

Kathy Olson, 45, is being held on $20,000 bail for alleged third-time DUI. According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to the area in reference to a possible DUI driver. The woman was seen parked along the side of and vomiting.

Upon arrival officers observed the parked car on the south side of the street. As the officer drove past he observed the driver with her head against the driver's seat head rest. He turned around and parked the patrol car and approached the sedan where he observed excessive vomit and a strong odor of alcohol coming from the car, the arrest report states.

The officer opened the door to check on the woman's welfare and observed she had vomit on her. He shook the woman and after about 30 seconds she awoke and was confused, the report states. The officer identified himself and noticed the car keys in the ignition and the shift selector was in drive mode. The officer continued to shake the woman until she woke up. She told the officer she was tired and just wanted to sleep, the report states.

The woman stepped out of the vehicle and could barely walk without being supported, the report states. She used the car for balance as she walked to the rear of the car per the officer's request. The woman was asked to lean against the trunk so that she would not fall down while the officer asked her a series of questions, the report states. The officer explained and demonstrated the field sobriety test where the woman failed to complete the tests. She submitted a preliminary breath test with a result of a .241, the report states.

Further review of the woman's criminal history showed she had three prior DUI convictions within the past seven years, according to the arrest report. She was booked on the felony DUI charge. Bail: $20,000.

Carson City Sheriff’s arrest log: Man jailed on felony domestic battery charge

A 51-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday at a La Miranda Street residence on a felony charge of domestic battery with strangulation, a Carson City sheriff's deputy said.

According to the police report, officers responded after dispatch received a report of a woman being choked. Officers arrested Jim Barlow at 8:30 p.m. Deputies spoke with the victim who said Barlow and herself were arguing about their cats when he jumped and pinned her down on their bed.

The woman screamed for help and Barlow put both hands around her neck. The woman told officers she could not breathe and clawed at the man's face. The woman then grabbed his crotch and squeezed until he let her go, the arrest report states.

The victim had minor swelling and red marks on both sides of her neck, consistent with strangulation. The victim was hesitant to write a statement, but after speaking to officers she agreed. Bail: $15,000.

In other arrests: A 55-year-old Carson City woman was jailed Saturday at 8:35 a.m. in the 2000 block of Airport Road on a felony charge of burglary and a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery first offense.

Officers were dispatched to the area on a domestic battery report. On the scene, the victim told officers that her mother-in-law, Carmen Vega, battered her. The victim explained that she and Carmen were having problems regarding her children. The victim said she sent Carmen a text message saying Carmen could not see her son.

According to the report, after the victim sent the message, Carmen banged on the door to her son and the victim’s residence. The victim opened the door and Carmen proceeded to punch and slap the victim in the jaw. The victim yelled at her husband to come downstairs and he escorted his mother from the scene. Bail: $23,137.

— A 35-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday, 3:52 p.m. in the 4000 block of South Edmonds Drive on a felony fugitive from justice charge.

Deputies were dispatched to the area on a domestic disturbance, the reporting party said her boyfriend, Michael Stater, was verbal with her and threw all her clothes into the driveway then ran off. Deputies ran a check on Stater and he showed a felony warrant out of the Kauai Justice Court for domestic battery, the arrest report states. According to the report Stater returned to the residence two hours later and was arrested. Bail: $11,000.

— A 31-year-old Dayton man was arrested Saturday at 3:01 p.m. in the intersection of College Parkway and I-580 on a misdemeanor charge failure to appear. An officer was dispatched to assist with a traffic stop. The suspect was ran for wants and warrants and came back with a confirmed warrant out of Lyon County. Bail: $310.

— A 20-year-old woman was arrested Saturday at 11:27 p.m. in the 2000 block of Menlo Drive on misdemeanor charges of battery and minor in consumption of alcohol. In the same incident a 38-year-old woman was arrested for battery and a 28-year-old woman was also arrested for battery.

Officers were dispatched to the area on a report of a fight. A sergeant was already on scene and instructed that one of the women be placed in the officer’s patrol car for minor in consuming. The woman told the officer she was 20 years old and gave a PBT sample of .167. Bail: $1,379.

A second woman was placed in the patrol car for battery. The woman told the officer she wanted to press charges against the third woman for battery. The third woman, in the sergeant’s patrol car also wished to press charges against the second woman for battery. Bail: $1,137 each.

— An 18-year-old woman was arrested Saturday at 10:55 p.m. in the 2700 of Menlo Drive on a misdemeanor charge of minor possessing/consuming alcohol. Officers were dispatched to the area in regards to a fight. The officer approached a group of people who were huddled around a yelling and cussing young woman. The woman identified herself and told the officer she was 18 years old. The officer observed her slow and slurred speech. The woman gave a Preliminary Breath Test that resulted in .128. Bail: $242.

— A 21-year-old Reno man was arrested Sunday at 3:12 a.m. in the intersection of North Carson Street and Winnie Lane on misdemeanor charges of driving under the influence of drugs, possession of marijuana, possession of drug paraphernalia and open container.

An officer witnessed unsafe driving patterns of a tan Honda and conducted a traffic stop. According to the report the driver had red watery eyes and said he had drank earlier in the day. The officer found a small pipe in the driver’s pocket that he said was used for smoking marijuana. The driver performed the Standardized Field Sobriety Tests unsatisfactorily. After arresting the driver, officers searched his car and found two glass jars of a green leafy substance believed to be marijuana and an open bottle of rum behind the passenger’s side of the vehicle. Bail: $3,203.

— A 50-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday at 10:40 in the 200 block of Burton Street on misdemeanor charges obstructing a peace officer and violation of suspended sentence. An officer was patrolling the area and checked a blue Mazda for a registration check. The check came back saying the registered owner had a misdemeanor warrant issued for his arrest. When the officer stopped the vehicle, the woman driving explained it was her father’s car and told the officer where they lived.

Officers went to the suspect’s home and knocked on the door. The suspect came out with clenched fists and squared his body up to the officers, ready to fight them, the report said. The suspect has a history of obstructing and resisting police with violence. An officer attempted to place him in handcuffs, but he did not comply. The suspect tensed up and would not comply with directions. The officer took him to the ground and placed handcuffs on him. Bail: $1,407.

— A 28-year-old Sparks woman was arrested Saturday at 5:19 p.m. at the corner of Telegraph and Carson streets on a misdemeanor charge of failure to appear traffic citation. An officer was patrolling the area when a blue vehicle failed to stop for pedestrians in the crosswalk. After conducting a traffic stop and a check, the driver came back with a warrant issued for her arrest. Bail: $340.

— A 20-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Saturday at 7:39 p.m. on the corner of Dan and Stewart Street on a misdemeanor charge failure to appear. Officers stopped a white pickup truck for making an illegal right hand turn. The computer check determined that the driver had a confirmed traffic warrant out of Dayton Township Court. Bail: $280.

— A 22-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday at 10:33 p.m. on a misdemeanor charge of DUI first offense. An officer responded to a call in reference to a DUI driver. The reporting party said the vehicle was unable to stay in the lane. The officer stopped the vehicle and met with the driver who had watery eyes and a strong smell of alcohol. The driver submitted a Standardized Field Sobriety Test and performed with indicated impairment, according to the report. The driver admitted to drinking a few beers before driving. Bail: $1,137.

—A 28-year-old Carson City man was arrested Saturday at 8:30 a.m. in the 800 block of East Musser Street on a misdemeanor charge of violation of bail conditions. Officers arrived at the Carson City Jail with the man who had an outstanding warrant for failure to appear out of Carson City Township. Bail: $3,000.

— A 44-year-old Markleeville man was arrested Saturday at 6 p.m. in the 800 block of East Musser Street on misdemeanor charges of violation of suspended sentence and probation violation. Officers arrived at the Carson City Jail with the man who had an outstanding Carson Township warrant for violation of suspended sentence. Bail: $3,000.

—A 44-year old Reno woman was arrested at 6:00 p.m. in the 800 block of East Musser Street on a misdemeanor charge of contempt of court. Officers arrived at the Carson City Jail with the woman who had an outstanding warrant out of Carson Township for contempt of court. Bail: $292.

Carson City sheriff's log: Woman turns herself in on warrant alleging statutory sexual seduction

The following are Monday’s bookings and arrests made by the Carson City Sheriff’s Office. Those arrested and facing charges are innocent unless proven guilty in a court of law.
A 32-year-old woman turned herself into Carson City Jail at 9 a.m. Monday on a felony warrant alleging statutory sexual seduction, a Carson City deputy said.
Arrested was Jacqueline Benzler of Carson City. The arrest warrant was issued March 18 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $5,000.

In other arrests:
— A 25-year-old Carson City woman, Katherine Ramos-Montes, was booked into jail Monday, 11:40 a.m. on a felony warrant alleging uttering a forged instrument. The warrant was issued Aug. 13, 2013 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $7,500.

— A 22-year-old Carson City man was booked Monday, 11:30 p.m. into Carson City Jail on a misdemeanor warrant, failure to appear, issued Jan. 21, 2015 out of East Fork Township Court. Bail: $740.

— A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 10:51 p.m. in the 100 block of South Division Street, on a misdemeanor charge, probation violation. According to the arrest report, officers were called to the location in reference to an intoxicated man fighting with others.

When officers arrived there were two men in the front yard of a residence. Officers spoke with one of the men who said he and the suspect had been drinking at a casino and when they returned to the apartment, the suspect threw a punch at him during an argument. The man said the punch did not land and he was not injured. He declined to press charges.

Officers spoke with the suspect, who emitted an odor of alcohol and had red watery eyes. The officer asked if he was injured and he stated he wasn’t. The officer asked if the argument was ever physical and the suspect replied it was not.

A warrant search was conducted on the suspect. Dispatch advised the suspect was currently on probation with the Department of Alternative Sentencing with a “no alcohol” condition. The suspect provided a preliminary breath test with a result of .225, the arrest report states. Alternative Sentencing advised to place the man under arrest on a charge of violation of probation conditions. Bail: $3,000.

Trio face felony burglary, larceny charges in theft of computers from Walmart

Three Carson City Jail inmates were booked Monday on felony charges of burglary and grand larceny following an investigation into the theft of three computers stolen from Walmart on Jan. 21, 2014.

The men arrested are Joseph Larson, 24 of Dayton, Michael Harrell and John Kramer, both 20. Each face bail amounts of $30,000.

According to the arrest report Walmart staff was able to identify the suspects and driver of the getaway vehicle from last month's theft. All three men were seen on Walmart's surveillance cameras taking computers and leaving the store without any attempt to pay, the arrest report states.

One computer was located inside Larson's apartment. Harrell has a previous conviction in Nevada for burglary and Kramer has a larceny conviction, also in Nevada, the arrest report states.


Carson City sheriff’s arrest log: Woman jailed on domestic battery charge

A 19-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday in the area of Tybo Circle on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

According to the arrest report, deputies were called to the area at 6:24 p.m. in reference to a domestic battery. Officers met with the suspect who said that she and her husband were arguing and that at one point during the argument she grabbed him on both sides of his face and scratched him.

She said the man did not touch her during the argument. The victim had marks on both sides of his neck consistent with being scratched. Bail: $3,137.

— A 42-year-old Carson City man was arrested Monday, 6:35 p.m. in the 200 block of Lisa Way on a misdemeanor warrant, violation of a suspended sentence, issued Oct. 12, 2015 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $1,000.

— A 22-year-old Carson City man was booked Monday into Carson City Jail on a misdemeanor warrant, failure to comply, issued Oct. 27, 2015 out of Sparks Municipal Court. Bail: $655.

— A 39-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday, 8:82 p.m. in the 4000 block of Furgeson Ranch Road on a misdemeanor warrant for contempt of court. Bail: $3,000.

Carson City man arrested on suspicion of third DUI

A Carson City man was arrested Sunday in the 3300 block of Highway 50 East on suspicion of felony third DUI, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Abel Bargas Munoz, 43, was being held on $20,284 bail. According to the arrest report, dispatch alerted officers to a vehicle driving recklessly. The reporting witness followed the vehicle as it was heading eastbound on Highway 50 East. Dispatch advised the vehicle had pulled into the parking lot of a convenience store in the 3300 block.

Deputies responded and located the vehicle with the Munoz inside and made contact with him. He had a strong odor of alcohol coming from his breath as he spoke with officers, the arrest report states. Officers asked the man if he had been drinking and he replied he had. He said he had his last drink the previous day around 10 p.m. He submitted to Standardized Field Sobriety Tests with unsatisfactory results. He submitted a preliminary breath test with a .272 BAC, the arrest report states.

He was arrested at 1:23 p.m. and taken to jail where he faces charges of DUI third offense within seven years and driving without a valid license.

In other arrests:
— A 51-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday, 4:56 p.m. in the 3900 block of Quinn Drive on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery. According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to the address regarding a report of an unwanted subject. Upon arrival officers made contact with a man who said he and the woman were arguing and the woman refused to leave the residence.

After some time talking with the two, they agreed to stay in the house and try to work things out. Deputies prepared to leave the residence. Moments later officers observed the woman slam the door as the man attempted to walk into the home from the garage. The man fell back off the steps of the lower landing and cut his elbow. The woman was arrested for domestic battery. Bail: $3,137.

— A 39-year-old Reno woman was arrested Sunday 4:39 p.m. in the area of Carson and Caroline streets on a misdemeanor criminal contempt warrant issued April 17, 2014 out of Reno Township Justice Court. Bail: $478.

Carson City sheriff’s log: Inmate booked on felony warrant for attempted arson

A 36-year-old South Lake Tahoe man was booked Saturday at the Carson City Jail on a felony warrant alleging attempted arson and other crimes, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Derek Ernest Bogard, already an inmate at the jail, was booked at 3:22 p.m. on the California Superior Court warrant charge that alleges attempted arson, use of an incendiary device, vandalism with property damage of more than $950 and vehicle theft. He is awaiting to be extradited to South Lake Tahoe. Bail: $200,000.

In other arrests: Two were jailed Sunday on felony burglary charges after allegedly stealing merchandise from Walmart and leaving the store without paying, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.

Jailed were Clinton Boots, 35 and Tamara Rose Gibson, 26. According to the arrest report, a deputy was dispatched to the store after security had detained the pair for shoplifting. The security agent provided the deputy with their identification.

The security employee said he observed the two in the apparel section of the store gathering large amounts of clothing and placing them in a laundry basket in a shopping cart. The two proceeded through the exit past all methods of payment and left the store where security approached them.

Both cooperated and admitted that nothing in the cart had been paid for. The value of the merchandise was $600, the arrest report states. The deputy read the pair their Miranda rights and both agreed to speak. They admitted to going into the store to intentionally steal. They said they heard Walmart in Carson City was easy to steal from and when their driver failed to pick them up, they cooperated with security.

Both were arrested on felony shoplifting charges. Gibson also had a confirmed warrant out of Douglas County for petit larceny and contempt of court. Her bail is $3,000. Clinton Boot’s bail: $2,500.

— A 26-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday, 11:03 p.m. in the 3100 block of Deer Run Road on misdemeanor charges of being an intoxicated pedestrian and obstructing. According to the arrest report, a deputy made a traffic stop at the intersection of Highway 50 and Deer Run Road. During the stop he heard a female scream. The officer turned around and saw a woman in the middle of the road on Highway 50 East. She was nearly struck by a passing car.

The vehicle that nearly hit the woman turn around and advised the officer of the situation. The officer stopped his patrol car on Deer Run Road and attempted to make contact with the woman. The woman began running from the officer and went through a parking lot.
The woman stopped running after the officer told her to stop for a third time. The woman told the officer she was drunk and “flirting with danger.” She voluntarily submitted to a preliminary breath test with a result of .220. The officer placed her into custody and advised her of her Miranda rights. The officer asked the woman why she did not stop when instructed. The woman said she was extremely drunk and had no reason, the arrest report states. Bail: $484.

— A 35-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday, 7:21 p.m. in the 1100 block of South Carson Street on suspicion of DUI. According to the arrest report, officers were called to the area of Spooner Junction in reference to a reckless driver.

A reporting witness advised the vehicle was going very fast and drifting in and out of the travel lanes. The driver left her lane multiple times nearly causing several accidents with two different cars and a motorcycle, the witness said. The driver would slam on her brakes without warning and at one point was going 65 mph in a 35 mph zone on South Carson Street.

The officer made contact with the driver who displayed signs of intoxication. The woman told officers he had not consumed any alcohol. The woman was asked if she would submit to field sobriety tests and initially refused. Then she admitted that she had one glass of wine earlier in the day but that was several hours ago. The woman failed multiple field sobriety tests and gave a preliminary breath test of .143. Bail: $1,137.

— A 31-year-old Stagecoach man was arrested Sunday, 1:35 p.m. in the 1100 block of East William Street on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery. According to the arrest report officers were called to the residence and met with the suspect and victim. The woman stated the couple began arguing. The victim stated during the argument that the suspect grabbed her by the back of the hair and around the neck. The deputy observed several small red marks on the front of the woman’s neck.

The deputy spoke with the suspect who said the two were arguing and the woman would not give him back the keys to his vehicle. The suspect said he only touched the victim when he grabbed her purse for his keys. There were no signs of battery on the man. He was determined to be the primary aggressor. Bail: $3,137.

South Tahoe man arrested after allegedly dropping wallet containing meth inside casino

Carson City Sheriff's deputies arrested two South Lake Tahoe men Tuesday night after one of them allegedly dropped a wallet on the floor of a casino that contained methamphetamine.

According the the arrest report, security at a casino in the 3800 block of South Carson Street contacted dispatch about finding a lost wallet. The responding deputy opened the wallet and found a piece of folded up paper containing what he suspected was methamphetamine.

The wallet contained identification for Bruce Kasper, 65, of South Lake Tahoe, who was still inside the casino. The deputy placed Kasper in handcuffs and escorted him to the security office where he was read his Miranda rights and asked about the contents of his wallet. Kasper said the drugs did not belong to him, and he believed his girlfriend put them inside his wallet before he came to Carson City.

Kasper was arrested for possession of a controlled substance, and his bail was set at $2,500

Casino security said that Kasper was inside the casino with another male subject. The deputy later contacted William Robert Crow, 55, of South Lake Tahoe, inside the casino. A wants and warrants check turned up a felony warrant out of El Dorado County, Calif. for violation of probation and possession of a controlled substance. A pipe used to smoke methamphetamine was found in his left front pants pocket.

Crow was arrested for being a fugitive from justice, a felony, and misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia. He was held without bail.

Other Arrests:

—Christopher Verduzco, 24, of Carson City, was arrested Monday night near Bryon Circle and Lompa Lane on a felony warrant for uttering a forged instrument and obtaining money under false pretenses. His bail was set at $20,000.

—Deputies arrested at 40-year-old Carson City woman Tuesday evening in the 1300 block of South Carson Street on a misdemeanor warrant for violation of a suspended sentence. She was a passenger in a car driven by another woman who had a suspended drivers license. While doing an inventory of the car, a deputy found a crystal substance suspected to be methamphetamine. But a field test determined the substance to be fake drugs. The woman who was arrested said it was "MSN" which is used to "cut" or mix with other drugs. She claimed it was left behind by the previous owner. Her bail was set at $3,000.

—A 44-year-old Carson City man was arrested Tuesday night in the 1900 block of North Stewart Drive for misdemeanor domestic battery. According to the arrest report, he and his girlfriend were arguing over money when he allegedly choked her and ripped her cell phone out of her hand. His bail was set at $3,000.

—A 30-year-old male transient was arrested early Tuesday morning on a gross misdemeanor failure to appear warrant from drug court. He was held without bail.

—A 31-year-old Carson City man was arrested early Wednesday morning on a misdemeanor violation of probation warrant. His bail was set at $3,000.

Crime Log: woman transferred to Carson City from Douglas on auto theft allegations

Carson City Sheriff's deputies arrested Elizabeth Santillanez, 18, a Carson City woman, at 6 p.m. Wednesday evening after she was transferred to the Carson City Detention Facility from the Douglas County Jail. Santillanez was arrested on a felony allegation of automotive burglary. Bail is set at $10,000.

Deputies also arrested several people for misdemeanor allegations:

  • A 20-year-old transient man was arrested for domestic battery, minor consumption, and possession of marijuana.
  • A 24-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on a criminal contempt warrant in her name.
  • A 20-year-old Marysville woman was arrested on a contempt of court warrant in her name.

All suspects are considered innocent until proven guilty.
