A Wadsworth, Nev., couple were arrested Sunday and charged with felony burglary charges after attempting to steal merchandise from Walmart, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
Arrested were James William Thomas Jr., 42, on suspicion of felony shoplifting, and two misdemeanor warrants. Also arrested was Julia Anissa Burns, 43. She faces a felony charge of being an accessory and a misdemeanor warrant charge.
According to the arrest report, officers were called to Walmart in the 3200 block of Market Street for two persons detained for shoplifting. No information was provided about what the couple allegedly stole. Bail for Thomas: $3,750. Bail for Burns, $3,500.

— A 47-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 12:35 p.m. in the 300 block of David Street, on suspicion of misdemeanor domestic battery. According to the arrest report, officers arrived and met with the suspect, the victim and a neighbor. The victim had a bleeding lip and told officers the suspect beat her and chased her through the apartment. The neighbor told officers that the man was screaming “I’ll kill you.” The suspect, who had what appeared to be defensive scratches on his forearms, wouldn’t say what happened. Bail: $3,137.
— A 25-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 7:40 p.m. on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery. According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to the 200 block of Jeanell Drive for a domestic disturbance. Officers found a man and woman, with the woman having scratches on her face and chest. She told officers the two were arguing and that the man hit the left side of her face with the palm of his hand. She said the man then grabbed her right arm and starting hitting himself in the face with her hand. She was wearing a ring on her hand, the arrest report states.
The victim told deputies they continued to argue and then she left. The man denied a physical fight, the arrest report states. He said there was pushing and shoving and that he did grab the woman’s arms. He had several red marks on his forehead. He said he hit himself and that is how he sustained injuries to his forehead. Due to the injuries on the woman, officers determined the man to be the primary physical aggressor and he was arrested. Bail: $3,137.
— A 46-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Sunday, 6:33 p.m. in the 3300 block of Champion on a misdemeanor charge of domestic battery. According to the arrest report officers learned the woman went to a home to obtain a pet dog and a chicken. The woman got into an argument with her mother. They began yelling at each other, then slapping each other in the face while inside the home.
The two then went outside on the front porch and continued to yell, which drew the attention of neighbors. One witness said they saw the 46-year-old woman hit her mother several times in the face. The victim did not require medical attention. The suspect was arrested and taken to jail. Bail: $3,137.
— A 29-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 12:16 p.m. on a misdemeanor charge, suspicion of violating a temporary restraining order. Bail: $1,137.
— A Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 9:35 a.m. in the area of William and Saliman streets on a failure to appear warrant issued Aug. 26, 2014 out of Carson City Justice Court. Bail: $185.
— A 39-year-old Carson City man was arrested Sunday, 6:11 p.m. in the 3700 block of Woodside Drive on a misdemeanor charge of violation of a suspended sentence. Bail: $3,000.
— A 24-year-old Carson City man was arrested at 10:45 p.m. in the area of Highway 50 and Stewart Street on misdemeanor charges including a warrant, registration of a suspended sentence, driving on a suspended license and no proof of insurance. Bail: $2,536.
— Three were arrested Saturday in the 700 block of Sonoma Street, two facing separate gross misdemeanor charges and the third an obstructing charge following an incident in which a dog attacked a Carson City sheriff’s deputy.
A 25-year-old Carson City woman was arrested on suspicion of child abuse, neglect or endangerment, a gross misdemeanor. A 36-year-old man was arrested on a gross misdemeanor charge of intimidating police officer and misdemeanor resisting an officer with violence and a 39-her-old woman was arrested on a misdemeanor obstructing charge.
According to the arrest report, officers were dispatched to the 800 block of Jackson Way in reference to an intoxicated woman with a small child. A reporting witness advised that the woman entered a home that wasn’t hers and appeared disoriented. The witness attempted to escort the woman to a residence on Sonoma Street, whereby the woman informed them she had a firearm, the arrest report states.
A deputy noticed the woman and child in front of a Sonoma Street residence. While parked outside the home, the 36-year-old man exited the residence with a dog and began yelling at deputies.
The dog barked and then attacked the deputy, the arrest report stated, with the man telling the officer not to mess with the dog. The man then walked toward the officer and refused to stop when he was told to stay back. A taser was deployed, in which the man removed the wires and continued toward deputies. The man was told he was under arrest. Again, the man pulled away from officers, began resisting was taken to the ground and cuffed.
Officers then arrested the 39-year-old woman for obstructing after she interfered with the arrest, standing between the officers and the 36-year-old man.
After the incident, officers asked a male inside the residence if they could check on safety of the child, which had been with the woman who had originally walked into the Jackson Way home.
The male allowed officers inside where the mother was found, extremely intoxicated, and appeared unconscious on the bed. Sitting on her chest was a two-year-old crying child. Also sitting on the bed was a 14-year-old, who appeared stunned at what happened at the home. Officers attempted to wake the woman up, and it took several minutes. When the woman woke, she fell out of the bed and onto the two-year-old, the arrest report states.
Officers called fire and ambulance so they could be checked. The woman was then taken into custody on suspicion of gross misdemeanor child abuse, neglect and endangerment. The child was released to their stepfather.
