Three men were arrested Friday night in the area of Robinson and Pratt, a Carson City Sheriff's deputy said, including two of them for misdemeanor disorderly conduct involving alcohol.

According to the arrest report, a Sheriff's deputy was on patrol in downtown Carson City when one male subject was observed to be stumbling in a cross walk while the light was illuminated red.

After the deputy had turned his patrol vehicle around to check on the subject, the 23 year-old Carson City man appeared to be taunting the officer by throwing his hands up at him, the report said.

Upon making contact with the subject, the deputy observed he was very intoxicated, talking to his brother in their front yard about beating up people on bicycles, the report said.

As the two men spoke, a pair of elderly women rode by the residence in the 800 block of Robinson Street. The suspect responded by yelling at them, "What up?! We own this f***ing block," the report said.

The deputy had called for a back-up unit as he approached the suspect, the report said. At that moment, two more male subjects walked up to the suspect's residence carrying beer containers, which where then set down in the street.

One of the subjects, a 31 year-old Carson City man, was wearing rubber gloves and appeared to carrying a bat, the report said. He stopped briefly to urinate on a bush.

Deputies spoke first with the 31 year-old and a 22 year-old Carson City man with him.

The 31 year-old suspect denied carrying a bat when asked about it, the report said, even though he had placed the bat on the bush he had just urinated on. He also said he was wearing rubber gloves to keep his hands warm.

The 23 year-old intoxicated suspect was also interviewed by law enforcement. He was argumentative with deputies, the report said, denying that he was yelling at anyone.

A preliminary breath test (PBT) was performed on the 23 year-old, showing breath alcohol content (BAC) of .214 percent, the report said.

This suspect also had an outstanding bench warrant for theft issued out of Douglas County, the report said, confirmed by records check.

He was subsequently handcuffed and arrested for the warrant, as well as for misdemeanor disorderly conduct, intoxicated pedestrian and disobeying a traffic control device, the report said. Bail: $150.

Records checks were also performed on the 31 year-old and 22 year-old suspects. The former was on confirmed supervision through the Carson City Department of Alternative Sentencing (DAS) with no-alcohol, drugs or drug paraphernalia clauses, the report said.

He was found to be in possession of alcohol, marijuana and a marijuana grinder, all of which were violation of his DAS conditions. The suspect was handcuffed for these and for disorderly conduct of urinating in public, the report said. Bail: $3,000.

The 22 year-old suspect was arrested for misdemeanor failure to register as a convicted felon after a records check confirmed prior convictions for robbery and controlled substance, the report said.

Caretaker Eric Anthony Buhl pled guilty Tuesday in Carson City District Court of first degree murder in the death of 2-year-old Coanuyana Hernandez. Sentencing will be on Jan. 17, 2018.

Earlier this month Buhl waived his preliminary hearing in Carson City Justice Court with the expectation at the time of his arraignment that he would enter a guilty plea to the charge of first degree murder.

Buhl was in front Judge Wilson, Department II of First Judicial District Court. He faces the following possible sentences: Life in prison without the possibility of parole, life in prison with the possibility of parole after a minimum of 20 years has been served or for a definite term of 50 years with eligibility for parole beginning after a minimum of 20 years has been served.

The preliminary hearing waiver at the time essentially took the death penalty possibility off the table, said Carson City Assistant District Attorney Kristin Luis, who has prosecuted the case along with Deputy District Attorney Tyson League. Sentencing has been set for a full day, said Luis.

On March 17, Carson City sheriff's deputies responded to a report of an unresponsive toddler on the 100 block of Manzanita Terrace in North Carson City.

When emergency personnel arrived on scene, they found Buhl administering CPR on the victim, two-year-old Coanuyana Hernandez, who was taken to a local hospital and died. During the investigation, deputies found a live pipe bomb inside Buhl's bedroom.

In May the Carson City District Attorney’s Office filed an “Amended Criminal Complaint” against Buhl, charging Count I, Open Murder (“A” Felony); Count II, Child Abuse Causing Substantial Bodily Harm (“B” Felony); Count III, Possession of an Explosive or Incendiary Device in or Near Certain Public or Private Places (“D” Felony); and, Count IV, Child Endangerment (Gross Misdemeanor).

The amended criminal complaint was filed after the results of the autopsy were completed and the medical examiner had determined the cause of Coahuyana Hernandez’s death was homicide.

The man who has led anti-South Lake Tahoe Police, El Dorado County Sheriff, District Attorney and Judge campaigns was found guilty on Monday in Sacramento Superior Court on eight felony charges.

Todd "Ty" Christian Robben is facing a maximum of seven years in state prison after a jury found him guilty on the charges that involved threats and attempted threats targeted at a number of public officials including Superior Court Judges in El Dorado County, a South Lake Tahoe Police lieutenant, an investigator from the State Bar, the South Lake Tahoe City Attorney, and a local attorney who represented the defendant on a misdemeanor appeal.

All judges sitting on the El Dorado County bench recused themselves due to Robben's threats so the case was heard in Sacramento before a Sacramento Superior Court Judge on an assignment handed down by the California Supreme Court.

Robben will be sentenced on October 27, 2017.

After learning of the verdict, District Attorney Vern Pierson issued the following statement: “I am pleased that a jury has convicted Mr. Robben of these crimes. I hope this sends a strong statement that El Dorado County won’t tolerate threats or intimidation against judges or other public officials.”

Robben once used crime scene tape to surround the El Dorado County complex on the corner of Johnson Boulevard and Al Tahoe Boulevard in South Lake Tahoe and also in Placerville. He also runs websites in California and Nevada that target law enforcement and government, and has been seen numerous times in local courts.

A fired Nevada Department of Taxation employee, Robben also had run-ins with a Carson City judge, a district attorney and a sheriff in Carson City.

In 2014, Robben was accused of solicitation to commit murder and intimidation against Carson City Judge John Tatro in which formal charges were filed but later dismissed by a presiding judge in Douglas County.

Former Carson City District Attorney Neil Rombardo, Assistant District Attorney Mark Krueger and Carson City Sheriff Ken Furlong were subjects of intimidation by Robben but charges were never filed.

The reporting party (RP) told law enforcement that they had seen the three year-old child at the street corner of a busy intersection throwing rocks into heavy traffic, according to the arrest report.

The RP said they had stopped and stayed with the child for about five minutes when they realized no adult was supervising.

Parole and Probation communicated that it wanted Wright detained. When the deputy informed Wright that she was being arrested, she became upset with the child, yelling profanities at him.
