A 31-year-old Carson City woman was arrested Monday for suspicion of gross misdemeanor child endangerment and misdemeanor DUI, a Carson City sheriff’s deputy said.
The woman was taken into custody at 9:45 a.m. in the 1000 block of Koontz Lane. According to the arrest report, a deputy was dispatched to the area in reference to an intoxicated woman who had been driving with a child in her vehicle.
Officers made contact with a reporting party who explained the woman had been driving with her 4-year-old in the vehicle and was intoxicated. The deputy met with the woman inside the residence and could smell an odor of alcohol on her breath.
She had red, watery eyes and slurred speech. She stated she had been consuming wine and drove back to the residence from the store, and stated her 4-year-old son was inside the vehicle when she drove from the residence to the store.
She agreed to standardized field sobriety tests and showed signs of impairment. She provided a preliminary breath sample of .315. Due to the high level of alcohol in her system she was taken to the hospital and then booked later for DUI and child endangerment. Evidentiary blood samples were taken while the woman was at the hospital. Bail: $3,764.
